For having not watched an AMV or anime or made an AMV since *last Otakon*, I loved your and silver_moon's video (surprise, surprise) and was glad to see it win. Maybe I'll go watch some other AMVs now >_>Sierra Lorna wrote:http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=102834

Congrats to everyone, but same thing Tim said about every other entry being a comedy...and not in comedy -_-

Thank you for that. I'd love to get some more feedback my video (and I don't mean 'compliments,' [though they are appreciated] I mean 'tear it apart'). I saw some extremely valuable and educational panels about winning AMVs. There was this one Princess Tutu AMV that would have mopped the contest clean as a clear winner, even with the Naruto/DBZ AMV. The Princess Tutu AMV felt as much like a Dramatic / Action mixed category as mine was, though I'm no where near the same level as that.DireStrike wrote:Well, I can tell you that you rank 2nd/3rd as far as I'm concerned! (I know, who the heck am I? ) If not for Naruto Ball I would have voted for you. Mai Time was clean, the shots matched the music, and was extremely well done. Naruto Ball had a kind of unfair edge in being part comedy.... My other 2nd/3rd choice is Seven May Cry. It's tough to modulate out FF7 bias, so I'm not sure exactly which I would have voted for, but the general feeling I have is that Mai Time was better. I remember liking Magical Barrage a lot, but Mai Time followed right after it so it was easy to compare and put Mai Time on top.I'd like to know just how I actually did rank, if that's at all possible. Everyone keeps asking me.
Here's my rundown of the Action Category: I whole-heartedly feel that "Seven May Cry" is the best Music Video composition that I have ever seen, AMV or not. "Naruto Ball Z - A battle of epic proportions" is entertaining every time I see it. "Photogenic" makes me so happy, and I can't explain it... 'girls on film... girls on film...' hehehe... "Magical Barrage" has made me a dedicated hunter for Magical Lyrical Nanoha A, and I will find that show if it's the last thing I do (blast Otakon for changing the schedule and airing episodes 1-4 without telling me!). "My Fist Is The Worst Kind Of Weapon" was done very well, but ran into the same problem that I did, where there simply were more "audience pleasing" videos.
I didn't intend to make AMVs to compete with anything originally, but it seems like a fun thing to do with AMVs once they're done. I wasn't getting many downloads for my video (yeah, "who am I?" syndrome), so I thought, "how can I get people to see my video, without going to the ridiculous 'plz op my vid' threads?" Go AMV Contests!!!
I plan to make more AMVs, and probably submit one to Otakon 2007. I have 2 good ideas, and I hope to have at least one done before the deadline.

Not sure if I can ask this, but I've been looking around for a while. Does anyone have a link the the Cabbit video and/or the Lifestyles of the Animated and Fabulous video? I'd really love to show the friends of mine who couldn't make it to Otakon, the videos. I've got most of the other winners already. Everyone did such a wonderful job. I actually had a hard time voting because so many of them were very good!

Hiya! Anime: Lifestyles of the Animated and Fabulous will be up on the org this week. I apologize for not getting to uploading it right away. I had to jump right back into my job upon returning from Baltimore. I'll make sure to post an announcement on the org when the vid is up!bionicoddity wrote:Not sure if I can ask this, but I've been looking around for a while.
