If the Japanese people put in fillers to squeeze out more money, why shouldn't the Americans do the same? It sucks but we live in a capitalist world. Meanwhile, in Brazil, we received the Cartoon Network version, changed it more and then broadcasted. If I liked Naruto, I'd be pissed, especially because the seiyuu lineup is awful.

Now when did I say anything about military superiority?

On your other points, I probably shouldn't have talked about technology since you are correct that many inovations now come from Japan. Historically, though, we do tend to come up with a few stunning achievements like nuclear power and going into space.

And you are right. There are a lot of people in this country who are obsessed with having material possessions. Based on polls though, Americans tend to be very happy with our lives.

And might does not make right. It just means you're the one who wins. If might made right, then we wouldn't have laws.

Anyway, going back to the subject of Naruto, the edits aren't nearly as bad as some people make them out. Story lines are not being sacrified with Naruto where with series like One Piece and Card Captors (Card Captor Sakura) the plot of the series was actually altered.

Mostly they've toned a few things down. The whole kiss scene early on was edited to be off screen but they still did a kissing sound effect and had Sakura clearly state that it had happened. Can you imagine if 4kids had gotten this show?

Actually, I'm going to do my best NOT to imagine that. The image would be too ridiculous for words. They edit Doremi and that's a show intended for all ages!
If only I understood Japanese. . .

its aright, i guess. the cn version makes it seem like for a younger audience. one thing i dont like about the cn versions (not just naruto) is that it takes out the good stuff, like on dbz the japanese version they have cursin and bird flippin and stuff. im not sure what the japanese version of naruto has (besides two certain people kissin) that the cn doesnt. i guess its the story depth and stuff like that, is why i try to catch it ever now and then.

No, it's the same audiance. There's just diferent standards of what's okay for children of that age in the U.S. and Japan.

Hence, to an American, it seems like it's meant for a younger audience.

don't you mean it looks like it's intended for an older audience?

Here's a funny fact.

Kids in Japan get to see more but the adults in Japan get to see less

Too many filler episodes.

It's kind of stereotypical, making it uninteresting and kind of boring.

My sister tried to get me into it, but I never did.
