Metro Con 2006

Hey i have never been to a convention and i was wondering what are they like and tips about cosplaying ( for fun) and just some pointers for this newbie wanting to try something new this summer

i dunno, dress up as whoever u want, make sure it's not obscure(sp?)

they're fun i guess, i mainly go for the events(especially the amv contest, obviously), guests 2nd

metrocon's always been awesome everytime I went there, this year will be my 4th time going

I know I'm goin to this. I dunno if I'm gonna be in the amv contest this time though. I'll try to submit my Berserk amv that didn't show at Jacon and hope they can get over the fact that there's a boob in it. It'll probably be up for best Drama/ Romance again, but that's only if they are going to show it. Otherwise it'll be the same as if I didn't enter it.

EDIT - nvm... I'm not entering the AMV contest. I don't wanna submit my Cowboy Bebop 1 again since it already won at Jacon, and since my Berserk amv has a titty in it, I'm afraid it won't be shown, like it wasn't at Jacon. It's not worth rushing for the deadline if the chances of it being shown are slim to none, so I'm gonna pass. Wish I could enter something though, but they don't want an action category so that puts the rest of my AMVs down even though their actually short, sweet, and to unexpected songs that still go perfectly with it.

I've never been to MetroCon but now that I live nearby, one of my classmates is trying to sucker me into going.

How's the AMV situation there?

It's pretty decent. The con itself is kinda iffy as far as the number of events goes, but the AMV contest is usually pretty strong.

But the Metrocon : Amano's World in October doesn't have an AMV contest, just so you know. Only the main Metrocon (in the summer) does.
