Hiya folks, this is my acting introduction post. I would be Theomegaman009, 13 years old and maker of 1 AMV. Anyway, glad to meet yall.
Anyway, I'm looking for some good AMV software for windows, and being the idiot I am, I can't make heads or tails of the list above (don't ask).
The story is, I've been using a school mac until now, and that didn't exactly work.
When I was in the middle of making my second AMV, it :
1. Scratched my disks so much they skipped
2. Somehow managed to mess up the quality of my files
3. Resized the files for no reason
4. Imovie started to skip
5. The computer crashed loosing all files.
And that's why I now need windows software. Sorry for making such a noobish topic, but yeah. I really want this stuff ;~;
NEEDED:
1. DVD to a quicktime viewable format
2. A video editor, somewhat like Imovie
That's about it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Domo.

well, I'll save you the trouble of looking around (part because I'm that bored...and I haven't been on the internet for about a week)
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=46136
lists a lot of free (gnu public liscence, not supposed to be freeware/shareware but a few may have made it onto the list) programs that hlep you with different aspects of editing
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/
a very good guide (arguably the best of its kind) that leads you through footage prep, basic editing and compression.
also includes a link to the amvapp, which contains just about everything you need to make amvs (short of an editing program and a computer).
last I knew, the amvapp only works with windows
popular editing programs for windows include:
Windows Movie Maker (WMM), Vegas movie studio, Magix movie edit pro, Premiere and premiere pro (both from Adobe)
*programs listed increase in price as listed, WMM being free, and premiere pro which can cost $849 (upgrade for $200)
in the future, the search function (located at the top of the page by the faq link) can usually return good hits. Play around with it a bit so you know how to use it if you need to

Sorry, but there was already something wrong with your computer. iMovie doesn't sabotage your hard disk. When I was in the middle of making my second AMV, it :

2. Somehow managed to mess up the quality of my files
3. Resized the files for no reason
