Don't understand what all that means?
READ ALL OF THIS POST THOROUGHLY FIRST!
(It may seem kinda long, but if you're a Disney fan, it's worth it! ^.^)
Also, when making the rules, I wanted to make sure I was very thorough (unlike my sister, Sailor Earth's, MEP. @_@)

Items in green mean they're listed in detail on the website. Also subject to change

What is it?

A tribute to the Disney animated classics – the great American pastime (used to be baseball ^_^ ; ).
Walt Disney has brought to life some of the most timeless tales of all time for us to cherish with our families for generations to come. And most people can whip out a classic Disney tune off the top of their head without the help of a Sing-Along.
So I’m starting the Disney Tribute Contest, dedicated to old Uncle Walt who’s given us so much.
If it wasn’t for Walt Disney and the efforts of his studio, animation wouldn’t be the phenomenon it is today (that's anime included). He introduced the first sound-synchronized cartoon, Steamboat Willie, in 1928, back when there was no such thing as dubbing. Everyone (the musicians for the background music, the sound guys for the sound effects, and Walt who did the voice of Mickey in those days) had to pile into the recording booth and hit every mark right on time. He also created the first color cartoon, Flowers and Trees in 1932, and created the first feature-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in 1937, for which he received an honorary Oscar (along w/ 7 little ones! ^.^) which was presented to him by Shirley Temple.
Walt and his team opened the gateway for generations to come, and it’s time we paid homage to the timeless classics we all share and love. It’s a time to “Remember When” – to remember your imagination, when Neverland was your destination, to reach the child who lives inside, and just remember when.

The Contest! ^.^ How does it work?
The listed Disney Animated Features are up for grabs. You can make it prior to the deadline and send it in when you think your video is the best it can be. The process of the contest is quite simple. You make a video with anime footage set to a song from a Disney animated feature, send it in, and wait to see who wins! ^.^

The Movies!
There will be a total of 25 Disney movies. I’ve picked out the movies deemed classics, the films that when someone says “Disney” they automatically think of that movie. (The movies in dark red are no longer available.) The movies up for grabs are:

1.Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
2.Pinocchio
3.Dumbo

4.Bambi
5.Cinderella
6.Alice in Wonderland
7.Peter Pan
8.Lady and the Tramp
9.Sleeping Beauty
10.101 Dalmatians
11.The Sword in the Stone
12.The Jungle Book
13.The Aristocats
14.Robin Hood
15.The Little Mermaid
16.Beauty and the Beast
17.Aladdin
18.The Lion King
19.Pocahontas
20.The Hunchback of Notre Dame
21.Hercules
22.Mulan
23.Tarzan
24.The Emperor’s New Groove
25.Lilo & Stitch

Check out those prizes! :D
The winner of each round will get their video put into the master compilation video which will premiere on a-m-v.org on March 19, 2007. Winners will also receive a complimentary PC Ham-Ham! (PC for “Pocket Cutie”). Don’t know what that is? Check it out:

http://www.geocities.com/pocketcutiehamhams/page1.html

They’re my very own special brand of Hamsters. We, the evil Rose Sisters, take our favorite anime characters and zip them through our handy-dandy Hamster Machine!
(But be kind! Hamsters are people, too, and they appreciate not being genetically altered. They’re okay with being adopted by loving owners, but if you try to change them to make them your own!!! There’s gonna be hell ta pay!)
As for the prize: The anime characters in the video by the winner will be Hamstafied and then Cosplay’d as the Disney characters of that movie! Kawaii, huh! ^.^ As such:
Image
The Mabudachi Trio from Fruits Basket dressed as (in order) Jose, Panchito, and Donald Duck from Disney's The Three Caballeros. These hamsters were made on Adobe Photoshop. Kawaii, huh! ^.^
But the Hamster prizes are not to be redistributed! Otherwise, they are no longer special and one-of-a-kind. If everybody on the net has a picture of (example) Chii dressed as Snow White, to what value is it anymore? Therefore, it’s not much of a prize if everyone has one.
A prize that EVERY entrant receives, regardless of whether or not they win, is their avatar with Disneyland's Golden 50th Anniversary Mickey Mouse Ears! (Phew! That's a mouthful @_@) Like such:
Image Image Image
My brother and sister's avatars wearing Golden 50th Anniversary Mouse Ears. My avatar has ears, too.
So, what do you all think? Cute, huh? ^.^ As said, every entrant receives one of these and they can be posted (in fact, I encourage it! ^.^)

What Anime Should I Use?
Any anime that you find best fits the song you’re using. There’s a multitude of anime out there. Be creative! Be original! But above all – Have fun! Old theatre maxim: “If you’re having fun, the audience is having fun!”
Can we use Kingdom Hearts?
Can we use actual Disney clips instead of, or mixed with, the anime?
HENTAI WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. You will be reported immediately.
This must be “Org-able”, meaning it must follow the rules of the Org. This will be a Local download, and besides! This is Disney we’re talking about! Think “Family Films!” Try to be tasteful in your choices.
And you can use as many animes as are needed.
How many animes can we use?
Can we use original animation?
What if I only have pics and gifs?

What Song Should I Use?
Any song from the listed Disney Animated Features. If you're not sure what all of the songs are from each movie, look them up online. I think I'll add lists of the songs to the website so it'll be a one-stop shop for people.

What do you consider a "song?"
How much of the song should we use?
Can we cut the song in any way?
How many songs can you use?
Can I use a techno remix?
What about movie quotes rather than song?
Who’s eligible for this contest?
Sound Quality
Video Quality
Aspect Ratio
File Type
Can I collaborate with another user?
How many videos can I make?

How do I send my entry in?!
The best ways to do it are:
to use YouSendIt, a online mailing service that allows you to send up to 100MB via email for free, and it stays available for 7 days (that’s why the cut-off dates are weekly). Click to go to YouSendIt

http://www.yousendit.com/

Or to use FileFactory.com which let's you send up to 300MB if your video comes out really large. But you must copy and paste the video link into another email in order for me to download it. Click to go to FileFactory

http://www.filefactory.com/

Send your entries to:

rosesisters2@hotmail.com

In your email, tell me:
1) Your username (or what you would like to be called in the credits)
2)What anime you’re using
3) What song you’re using
4) And send me your avatar.
If you don’t have one, make one (80 pixels by 80 pixels). If you don’t know how, send what picture you want to be your avatar and I’ll make it for you. Avatars must also be tasteful. Nothing like a naughty naked nurse with nothing but a few strands of hair covering her boobies, NO! Be tasteful, please. And if your avatar is an animated gif, send only the frame of that avatar that you like the most (for instance, CastorTroy has an avatar of Sakura going Super Saiyan: Sakura already exists, but it’s the SSJ part that makes it unique.)
Regular = Image Freeze Frame = Image Final Product = Image
Have a different email address than the one you're sending the video through?
And please, DO NOT WRITE IN THIS THREAD THE YOUSENDIT LINK TO YOUR VIDEO. The file will only be available for 7 days OR 100 downloads. If 100 people get to it before me, then I can’t get it. Also, you might give away your entire video. You are however welcome to tell what your video is about in this thread. Things like how long you spent on it, how much effort you spent, what program(s) you used to make it, etc. It’s always good for healthy competition to see what you’re up against. This is more of a “PREVIEW” area. Don’t give away everything about your video, but you can talk about what you feel is “preview” material.

Who's judging and how is it judged?

How do we know who wins which round?
All winners will be announced in March after the judging. You can know how well you did from the opinion I give you.
And I'm debating, so I want your opinions - should I have the videos available for viewing on my website or not?

Can we post our entries on the Org?

What if there are no entries for a certain movie?

Have questions or comments?
Either post them in this thread or Private Message me through the little PM button. If a Private Message I receive is of great importance, I will update the post to fit it.

</a>

This is where the "weekly" winners used to be announced. Their videos are still there if you want to watch. The site's nice, and I'm thinking of adding on to it. Be warned - it's a little outdated but the rules there are basically the same. If you find something contradictory due to their outdatedness, PM me and I'll clarify for you.

Ok, I'm in!

I love the fact you included Peter Pan! Yay!

Never smile at a crocodile...(No singing allowed!)

Grrr. Okay. This looks like fun! Wow! My only question would be..

Do we have to use the full song?

I know you said no remixes, but what if it's a cut out of an instumental solo, or maybe some repetative lyrics that would make the video a little long and boring, is that possible?
And I thought nobody read these.

Sorry, but my rules say, the song, the whole song, and nothing but the song.
You must stay true to the original song as seen in the movie.

I know for a fact that the song Gaston from Beauty and the Beast has different lyrics at the end of the song on the soundtrack then the movie version. But if you have the movie version, use it. If you want the soundtrack version, that's okay too.

So, Dezbo21, what movie are you looking at right now?

Honestly?

I'm looking into something for all of them, but I am torn between Peter Pan, Pinocchio, and Lilo & Stich.(My personal favorites.) I was just asking since I have some stuff from Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, and I just know that they have several waltzes that tend to drag on.

Okay, I know for "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella, that the opening to the song is mainly intsrumental.

For something like that, you can cut off most of the start and begin with the lyrics.

Basically for any song (this goes for everyone) use what part is considered the actual song from the movie. If on the soundtrack, there's a long intro or ending that most people don't really notice as being part of the song, but rather (as it was intended) to be background music, then it's okay.

But, no cutting out the middles of songs, such as musical interludes. If it's in the movie, it's gotta be there. Mmm'kay? ^_^

Gotcha! That was the only thing I needed clarification on. I know I'm good, I wonder how many people will get in on this.

This sounds cool. I grew up watching music videos synched to old Disney cartoons. I loved those things. Shame I can't find'em no more. Anybody remember those?

I already made a video featuring a song from Peter Pan. But I'm go for anything. Looks fun.

ORIGINALLY BEFORE IT WAS EDITED:
eahs wrote something along the lines of "I have no Disney footage so I need to get some"

 WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! TIME OUT!!! :!:

No, you don't need Disney footage, you need Disney music.

Re-read the rules to keep me from repeating myself and save my poor typing fingers T_T

Thought I'd save you before you made a mistake
