Judge Holden
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Judge Holden is purportedly an historically accurate person, a killer who partnered with John Joel Glanton as a professional scalphunter in the mid 1800's. [1]
To date, the only source for Holden's existence is Samuel Chamberlin's My Confession, an autobiographical account which has been criticized as unreliable. Chamberlin described Holden as well-spoken, intelligent and physically, quite large. He also described Holden as perhaps the most ruthless of the roving band of killers led by Glanton. (Finding verification of Holden's existence has been a hobby for some Cormac McCarthy scholars.)
A fictionalized Holden is a central figure in Cormac McCarthy's novel Blood Meridian. One study of the novel reports that Holden is "unscrupulous, violent, and more than a little spooky." [2] Some have argue that McCarthy's Holden is--or at least embodies the traits of--a gnostic archon. Harold Bloom declared that McCarthy's Holden is "the most frightening figure in all of American literature"[3] and compared him favorably with Shakespeare's Iago.

Sure, I'll play this game.
When my mother was pregnant with me and my parents were discussing what my name should be, my dad said "If it's a boy, we should name it Thor Blitz." My mother (quite understandbly) objected, and they sensibly named me after my grandfather. But it made for a good, original screenname. The 'er' was added because THORBLITZ was taken already on AIM when I signed up for it.
Everywhere else, my name is in all caps (THORBLITZER). I'm not sure why, I was about 13 when I came up with it and thought the all caps made it stand out more. I tried to make it all caps for the org, but it wouldn't let me when I signed up. Maybe someday I'll petition to have it put into all caps here. In fact, if any admin sees it here, feel free to go ahead and change it.
Don't got no studio name, cause it's only me. And I remember when studios actually meant something, not just what any one person could make up for no reason.

my username came from a pen name I had thought up for myself back in the early 90s in order to protect my identity with my writing. Of course, N.G.Silver doesn't work well as a username online, and I decided to stick with it, so I cut out the capitals and the periods. I've been ngsilver ever since... grant it, I often go by nat-chan now, but my username never changes.
As for my studio, it's actually an offset of the fake business I created back in jr. high. The company was suppose to do many things, like make video games, websites, and a bunch of other stuff. But it never got anywhere because I was too busy watching AMVs and playing video games...
In the end I used the name as the studio I work under. Currently I am the only active member, but there are other members who just arn't doing anything ^^()

This isn't a game... [evil glare... ]
"Above all else", "Haughty bastard", "Lord of teh Dance", "Ego-tistical megaloManiac", my name can me all or none of these [to some people at least...]
However, the true origin of my name also stems from the name of my special fx, I needed something that wasn't used much and could be defined by another language [a real language mind you]...
Omni - is usually a prefix that defines 'all' such as all directions, all colors, all elements, all genres, all things that can be described with and without words falls under the term, Omni... HOWEVER, someone said that it could mean "God" since well, Christian God exists everywhere. I've reluctantly come to 'accept' that description but not really, I highly prefer the term, "Everywhere". Yes...
Omni - Everywhere, that's the definition
Strata is the prefix for words like "Stratosphere" and other words for things describing heavenly sky and other things well above our heads... So for all intents and purposes, Strata means Sky in my name... Studios is the only word that floats with Strata anyways... Strata Pictures, Movies, AMVs, etc. They don't roll off the tongue like the monstrous hiss of Strata Studios... So in long... [er short]
Omni Strata Studios - (ahm-nee stra-tah stoo-dee-ohs) n. Everywhere Sky Studios. An anime music video studio consisting of one all-too-hopeful editor and a few here-&-not here editors bent on conquering the world of amvs using uplifting themes and avoid quite deftly the lower, darker, unsatisfying darker ideals of editing...
wtf am I saying...
OSS makes amvs to make people feel better after watching the video no matter what the circumstances...

Dude, that story kicks fucking ass, can't tell if you're just messin' or what not but DAMN, I'd love to see that pic...madbunny wrote:Some years ago I used to be a firefighter in the forest service. I did it for a few years actually. My real name is Murdock, and since there was a tv show called the 'A' team that was popular at the time everybody called me 'maddog'.
The problem with a nickname like maddog is that, whenever you are around a bunch of people that think they are badass and macho... like firefighters, bikers and rednecks, it's actually a pretty common nickname. Come on, can't you just picture some fat guy in a denim hells angel vest with a long goatee, and tatoos, calling himself 'maddog' as he swills a beer in a disreputable sawdust floor bar on highway somewhere? Happens all the damm time. Even without patrick swayze around.
So.. one day I was working on a fire in northern california. A big one, with thousands of crew, and an entire support camp set up for us. Real bastard of a blaze too with winds that just wouldn't quit. Anyway, I got sick of hearing 'my' nickname all over the camp (figure 1:5 crews had a maddog). So, after my shift was over I walked into town and bought a pair of bunny ears at a store, screwed them into my helmet with some sheetmetal screws and wore it out on the fire line the next day. All day long, and as long as I could while I was in camp, till I got busted and had to take them off. As I was coming back into camp with my crew, a local newspaper got a shot of me with my chainsaw over my shoulder, and of course, the bunny ears.
After that, everybody started calling me madbunny. The nickname stuck, so I sort of just kept using it ever since.

My username is the same one I use everywhere. The 'Ojamajo' part comes from my favorite anime being Ojamajo Doremi; the 'LimePie' part just sounded cute when I chose it.
'Pirika Productions' is also based on my love of Ojamajo Doremi. 'Pirika' is the first part of Doremi's magic spell. My studio name also has alliteration, which I love.

*sorry for the double post*
As for my studio SES (Syntax error studios) me and Kaxi started it up a few months back. And just so everyone knows, being in a studio isn't a bad thing. You always have people to test ur betas, share ideas, pimp ur vids and so on and so forth. It's real fun, start one up and see what gives.
Note: If there's just one person, that doesn't make it a studio :/

it's a real story. Unfortunately I gave out all the copies that I had years and years ago, and my grandmother said that she used hers to cleanup cat piss or something (the hell?!). It was a smallish town in Mendecino county somewhere. One of those country type towns that has a huge ass high school. Seriously, what's with country towns and those massive damm schools?OmniStrata wrote:Dude, that story kicks fucking ass, can't tell if you're just messin' or what not but DAMN, I'd love to see that pic...madbunny wrote:Some years ago I used to be a firefighter in the forest service.
