I'd really like to do one more part but I won't have access to my editing computer till after Sept 2

Ok, status update time.

A) The project is successful far beyond what I expected, assuming you want to define getting lots of shitty videos as 'success'. Usually I define tons of crappy videos as 'the top 10% list' but I guess that's besides the point. I have 53 minutes of pure crap submitted to this project as opposed to the hours and hours of pure crap I have for other reasons on my HD right now and I'm not quite done grabbing everything people have submitted fucking rapidshare cunts and their god damned time delayed bullshit much less done all well, any really. I'm a lazy bastard of my own segments. That's way longer than I intended the project to be. 15 or 20 minutes of crap? Fine. An hour or more of crap? If I wanted that much I would have just downloaded and watched every video Sierra/silvermoon made. I'm actually going to have cut this down some. Quality control on a MEP designed to suck, I don't fucking believe it. Anyway, point is I'm gonna be cutting segments. I won't cut someone completely out of the project but not all of the segments I've recieved will be included.

B) I'm keeping to the original deadline of Sept 2nd however due to other things did I mention I am a lazy bastard? there will be a short delay until the project is actually tossed together and put up. Part of the delay will be because I'll have to ask for over 100 meg file permission from the admins. Even disregarding quality I doubt I could get this under 100 meg while still having it watchable. So I'm just hoping that the admins don't actually watch the thing or read this topic first or I'm screwed.

C) If someone makes a very amusing bit after the deadline but before I upload the project I'll consider tossing it in subject to the above points. The way I'll be putting this together would make it fairly easy to add something in at any point up to the final export. Yes Castor Troy, this means you.

D) Anyone have any ideas for the credits? Best I've come up with so far is blatently ripping off Monty Python and the Holy Grails credits. A glance at my videos will tell you I'm not above ripping off other people but still, anyone got a better idea?

E) I have nothing more to say. I just like writing out long lists of things. It makes me feel like I'm doing something important. Mad geniuses intent on conquering the world have lengthy lists after all. Granted, the final item is usually 'put James Bond in an elebarate and stupid death trap that can easily be escaped from then be suprised he beat me' but still. They have a list. Important buisnesses also have lots of lists. First item is always 'fuck the customer' and last item is 'get arrested for fraud' but that's irrelevent. They have lists and they're big important buisnesses. I like feeling important so I'm writing a list too. Hopefully it doesn't end with me getting my ass whipped by some nancy boy limey or getting my ass fucked in jail.

F) Only losers don't have lists. Look at George Bush for example. He lead us into Iraq but didn't have a list for it. I for one think things would have gone a lot better if Bush had said "1) Win hearts and minds. 2) Do not kill the civilians. 3) Under no circumstances take photos of torturing and humiliating prisoners, order the troops to just remember the moment". But no, he didn't do that. Instead he was all like "Saddam has WMDs. Ohhhh. Big scary foreign guy out to get you all. Go get him" and now look at the mess we're in.

G) ??????

H) Profit.

I) You know, I could be spending this time doing something useful like putting together the project, masturbating, or sobbing pitifully when I contemplate that I'm married. But no. I'm spending my time writing this shit.

J) Ok. I'm done now. Really.

awww. . .no epic movie length MEP suckfest? No Time Life 10 volume set? What's wrong with you? lol. j/k. I've made my contribution, so I'll stop the vids now. (Because I don't have any ideas that are that much more amusing than the ones I already submitted.)

I like the Holy Grail Credits idea. lol. Or you could have the entire video be 30 minutes long. 20 minutes of video, 10 minutes of credits, either really flashy and slow moving text effects, or stick obnoxious animation in between. Or some cookie recipes or something. Maybe let the editors know which of their vids made the cut and have the editors do their own credits. (Either make it a normal 5-10 second thing, or just be obnoxious and give everyone up to 30 seconds for their credits.) Just a couple ideas. But I like the Holy Grail credits idea.

well, you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm just glad I contributed and whatever you use you use. I was gonna submit one final one but if you need to cut out some stuff then nevermind. I know you won't complete cut an editor out (I mean who honestly made anything good) so that makes me happy. Plus I gave you plenty of good crap to work with and I can't wait to see what you do with it all. But I think a couple of my submissions might be cut because they might be a bit too good for the point. Oh well....I'm just glad to be a part of it, and can't wait until it's out. 'Till then, ja-ne....

Why not just follow that rule? I'm sure some of the vid's submitted weren't creative in the least way possible. True they are horrible but I mean if horrible is all they are then they really aren't worth watching. An Idea behind it makes it more interesting :/. I'm not bragging but my second entry is a perfect example. Crap with style.

What about using the baleeted videos as part of the credits? Kinda like outtakes, but just listed as to crappy to be part of the project so they got bumped to the ending. Granted, it's more work to add all the audio and anime sources, but may as well end crap with crap. (AND you don't have to rip any extra footage...)

Just a thought.

Because I've noticed that my idea of 'horrible and boring' as compared to 'horrible and hysterically funny' doesn't always match what others think. Besides, one of the ideas I had for the project was anything goes and the thing would end up being whatever the hell people felt like fucking around with. I didn't originally intend to do much more than toss everything together and call it done.

Becuase the point of cutting isn't really that I think things need to be cut but rather that I think by including everything, even just in the credits, makes the project quite a bit longer than the 'so horrible you're supposed to laugh' joke can carry. Although I suppose I could use the deleted segments and just speed the videos up 500% for the credits. All the horribleness, 1/5th the time. Plus I could use the audio Country Roads over it...
