The GITS series doesn't compare to Nip/Tuck. Yeah some of the epps can get dark but in general there isn't that consistent feeling of things going wrong, getting worse, and all of it feeling so real.

You sum things up so nicely...I defintely agree on the part don't watch what you don't like bit, totally agree with ya. I think in a way, the real life series take a few episodes before you can say, "hey, I think I do like this show...now I wish I could watch from the start." Anime, however (most of the time), if you don't like it at the beginning (like one or two episodes) then you generally won't like the rest. That's what I find anyway and that's another reason why I like watching anime.

i like some anime because eveybody else does. hell, its even such a broad topic i even dislike some anime, otherwise the majority of the anime i dont watch i dont really pay attention to or bother watchin. its like a two sided coin, or somethin. its cool to watch some anime, plus its cool to hate some anime, sweet. i mean, besides all that coolness, theres always the plot, and the story, and the characters and all that good stuff. thats like gettin extra gravy, sweet. anyways, i started gettin into anime when my friends startin gettin into it, same goes with the final fantasy series.

Yeah, I know what you mean about censoring. It's amazing how many people are ignorantly fighting to increase the amount of censorship over here. It's sad to watch where my country is headed.

I guess most of us watch anime for the lack of censorship. POWER TO THE JAPS!!! Hell, when was the last time there was a TV show where naked girls walked around ripping people to pieces and you blatently saw a young girl get molested by her step-father? Can't show that shit in the sates. I'm gonna type a rant about this on Live Journal.
