Sorry if this has been posted before... my search didn't result in anything.

Divx - Stage6

In any case, Divx released a YouTube-esque service not too terribly long ago. As you can expect, phenomenal quality compared to the flash rendered, low bitrate YouTube/Google videos.

It's still in beta, and as such, there are a couple of hoops to jump through (installing web player and whatnot), but it's pretty straightforward. Uploading forces you to convert your video to Divx first (if it wasn't already), but they provide you with an encoder if you need it.

End result is streaming, high quality vids.

I've uploaded a couple videos on there as well as a few others, but I'd really love to see more. Just thought I'd pass along the info in case anyone was interested.

(Is YouTube really that hated around here to warrant a filter? Not that I have any love for it, mind you...)

Wow, and it even gives you the option to download the original file. That's pretty awesome. It's like Veoh, but better.

I doubt it will ever reach Youtube's level of widespread popularity (infact, I know it won't), but I'll probably use it none the less.

I was just thinking that, since I mean, don't most of us who use XviD set the FourCC to DX50 anyway?

I posted a video on youtube.com and posted the link here in the proper folder and it appeared as hotsatchel for some reason. My submission on other sites always kept it as youtube but here it was changed to satchel in the link.

Information We Collect:

o Second, our installers are designed to send us a small amount of information confirming that the software has actually been installed

o Third, some of our software products will automatically contact our servers

* Finally, we collect other, non-personally identifiable information using cookies, server logs, and single-pixel or transparent image HTML-based emails. The images in the HTML-based emails allow us to track how many people open the emails we send out.

What we do with information we collect

We may do the following with your information:

* Use it for non-marketing or administrative purposes, including but not limited to notifying you of developments relating to your transactions on the web site or to your account, requesting your feedback on our web site and services via surveys, and/or for customer services or data security-related purposes.
