It isn't quite Cone, either - the Japanese spelling is 「コン」, which puts it somewhere between the 'o' in Cone and the 'o' in 'con' (which is usually pronounced KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN--- err, 'ah').

Take it with a grain of salt, though - Kon's VA is horrid, IMHO.

Ohhh, that makes sense then. Thanks. (Well, it may have sounded less weird in English by erring toward the short version of the vowel, but it makes sense.)

I didn't recognize the actor from that short clip, and hitting up ANN, I don't remember him from anything else either. Oh well.

I was pretty impressed with Johnny's performance as Ichigo. I was afraid he would sound exactly like Vash, which I thought would be totally off. However, he pulled it off well, IMO, sounding more like I thought Ichigo would sound. I liked Michelle Ruff as Rukia well enough. My only complaint with her was she went a little overboard on the snottyness. I didn't catch the preview with Kon though. I hope he doesn't turn out to be as bad as you guys are saying he sounded in that.

Incase you've forgotten, she was snotty as all hell in the first episode with her Japanese counterpart filling the role. The only difference is that you now have something else to blame it on. The same thing happened in the Hellsing dubs with Integra. It appears that Integra is far more of a snobby bitch in the English dub only because it's easier to understand what's going on with her tone of voice(for most of us here at the .org, at least).

Whoops, totally forgot I posted on here. And I do remember she was snotty in the first ep. You have somewhat of a point, but you also assumed I meant she was snooty in comparison to the Japanese voice actor. I just meant that I thought she was a little over the top with it. To me, that was slightly irritating, but that was just my impression of it. Don't jump on my case just because you assumed that I was saying that Japanese voice-acting is always superior to English dubbs. But yeah, I agree that it's far easier to pick up on tone when its in a language you know.

Wasn't impressed.

The dub was okay, but man that show was....lacking in originality x1000.

Everyone says it gets better, but to have a first episode that predictable is just a huge turn off for me...

Adult swim is for an older crowd (hence the name Adult Swim) therefore they don't have...well, I guess you could say, as many restrictions. They're not always having to change things like "shit" to "crap." So, yay for staying truer to the original Jap, and keeping more violence and swear words!

Toonami on the other hand, is more for the younger ones, and that's why the series shown on it just about always have a terrible dub.
