No, it's not true. It's all lies meant to confuse you and you alone. Surely the Funimation site, ANN, or the official FMA Movie site are all out to conspire against you too, and you were wise in considering a General ANime forum to be the first source of information you approached

It was in scattered theaters across the country for like, one or two days. That's it.

.......well considering I did go to my local movie theaters and check, consult this issue with one of my anime buddies, and check yahoo.com's movie section without finding any truth, I came to my last resort, animemusicvideos.org since I know I could either a): Get the answer from someone like the person above you or b): Get your sacastic attempt to make someone laugh

Yeah, it's gonna be like Ghost in the Shell 2, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Howl's Moving Castle, ect. Only in like a few theaters in the entire country.

That sucks. The movie is the center of a HUGE fanbase and they won't release it nationwide, WHY!? Same with FFVII:AC, I was really disappointed. A little off topic, but I bet the HALO movie will be released nationwide...stupid...I'm off to LiveJournal, too. @&$*%
