Anyone else really miss outlaw star?

Post by Mephis » Mon Sep 18, 2006 1:19 am

I was able to come by the series again after not seeing it for 6 years.

Still the best anime I've ever seen. Most character diversity and comedy without being wacked out.

It's just really sad they decided to give up on it after 26 episodes and a pretty bleh ending. Which is pretty depressing, considering far lesser anime have ran over 100 episodes. I guess one should look at it like a mini series.

Anyone else feel the same?

I don't miss it. The series was pretty good. It has some enjoyable moments, fun characters but the story felt pretty random to me.

If you miss it get the box set.. it shouldn't cost that much.

Is there anything else out there some what similar to it? I keep hearing angle links is supose to be set in the same world. Then again I've never heard anything else about that series.

Keep in mind I'm one of the 3 people who didn't like cowboy bebop at all.

I do wish Cartoon Network would re-air it. Even with the amount of edits it had. :|

It bored me to death.

Considering that I'm a fan of Serial Experiments Lain, it really says something when a series puts me to sleep.

The vast majority of anime series are 13 to 26 episodes. Being able to tell a story in a short, consise manner and not milk it for profit for years is actually a good thing in most cases.

I miss it too but my aim is improving.

I didn't care for that show cause it seemed that mostly "I only get my anime from CN" crowd really loved that show while everyone else was like, There's better out there.

Not to mention I was turned off by the edits to the series. Call me a purist if you must. It's just that I stay away from animes that appear on CN cause they bring out all sorts of Fair Weather fans. Who's devotion to the series dies once the series ends it's airing on TV.

Nope I don't miss it.

Because I have the DVDs and can watch it whenever I please. :)

Buy them, they're cheap by now.

How do you think people watch anime then?(I, for one, won't go buy some anime DVDs unless I know I like the series.) CN is about the only place that consistantly has stuff. Too bad they always run crap like FMA... Then they rerun the same episode of GITS 10 times over each week, even though that series is so serious it puts me to sleep.

And the edits to the series, while pretty strict didn't ruin it. They probably wouldn't have to edit it now considering the new adult swim lineup. It would probably be an insult to put it on adult swim now though... They droped all the descent stuff for pure crap.

And if there's better out there, please, do tell. I've been looking for the past 6 years. If one more person tells me to watch akira I'll snap lol.
