Kai finally loses it

Post by Kai Stromler » Tue Sep 26, 2006 7:28 am

It's finally done, and to 99+% of the audience, will present irrefutable proof that I have finally lost my mind.

moji
anime: Black Heaven
music: "[Buchstabe]" by Knorkator
runtime: 4:16
download: 42 MB (xvid/mp3), local

If you a) speak German and b) know Knorkator videos forwards and backwards, then this video is a somewhat amusing 85-90%-accurate shot-for-shot remake of the original video. If not, well, there are some mostly inadvertent fart jokes.

Next videos will be mental in different and possibly good ways; this video is mental in the Knorkator way, and it may difficult for many people to find anything redeeming in that.

Anyone who uses the word "trippy" or "psychedelic" to describe this is just shooting horseshit out of their pieholes. This is flatout unadulterated psychosis. By the way, "lol" at the bald guy synch.

It seemed to drag on a bit towards the end, but otherwise total awesomeness. If this is anything to go by, I'm definitely looking forward to the next couple videos too.

LOL ^^ Fun amv!

Good video quality
Lip synch correct (I don't like very much it at 00:52 because it's a women who talk but it's fun^^)

At 01:16 -> lol :lol:
I don't like at 01:30 because you repeat the same scene many time.
At 02:34, it's very Excellent !!
Rotoscoping are good but maybe not also worked^^

To conclude, I like very much your amv, it is original, fun with a music hum... Crazy  lol

Good job !! 8-)

It should be mentioned at this point that this video is not really indicative of future directions, mostly because I had very little directorial input into it. I had a few choices that I had to make regarding shot selection in places where I actually had multiple options, and I did have to patch over stuff that I just couldn't reconstruct, but mostly this was a pure editing experience on my end with Knorkator directing.

As can be seen in the below screenshot, I used the original music video (available on the Zu Alt DVD) as a click-track; Magix's built-in rotoscoping and the fact that the original video was shot in a blueroom gave me a quick handle into the reference video, and for export I just muted that video track and hey presto, Knorkator disappears. Lining stuff up with the original scene transitions is the main reason that this video is at 25 fps, even though it's no longer at a PAL resolution.

Some parts of this video were harder than they appear, but making cracked-out directorial decisions was not among them; the craziest decision on my part in this project was deciding to do it in the first place.

(Of course, there's equally bizarre stuff in different directions upcoming, so maybe 'mental project choices' is a new direction....)

Much thanks for all comments; I'd make a remark about discomfort and broken brains nourishing always, but nobody has that Lugubrum record.

Is it disturbing that I relate to this video?

This is sheer awesome that I'm going to torture my brother and his girlfriend with for the next few days. Certainly worked in its completely disfunctional knorkator way.
