Yea, actually giving it a thought or two, I retract my comments. I mean the worst thing you could do is make a pointless amv just to show off a song and/or an anime. If someone throws a new song on the table, good for them. They should at least get some originality points or something. But there could be some pretty bad associations. Quite a while back before I joined the org I saw an amv that had Eminem's Kill You with DBZ mainly focusing on Vegeta.

Anytime I hear "Call me when your sober" in a song I don't think, Wow they got the video to go with the music. Most times I think, they really love that song but wanted to do something with it. It's very hard to attempt to do anything with taht song that'll fit the video instead of just be added cause it's popular and the creator really likes it.

There are a few other songs that are kinda popular but don't really related to AMV's.

After all, when was the last time you heard a AMV set to a polka song?

There's a bunch to the Weird Al Polka mixes, but I've never actually gone and looked for an AMV to actual Polka music.

*note to self: Must find Polka music and do an AMV. Most likely an action one. Or maybe use Hellsing. *

You know, mariachi music would be another fun genre of music to use.

I was sure that one of the Finns had done a Hellsing video with the band used in this video, but I can't find it in my downloads page right now. Still, yeah, humppaa.

Using songs that couldn't or shouldn't be used in AMVs is a personal challenge of mine. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to using anything really disruptive from the Thrones or Khanate yet, or any of Burzum or Hrossharsgrani's more epically boring and repetitive stuff.

Yet.

Lol. I figured it wasn't an extremely original idea. Yeah, I like challenges like that, but really my thing is sticking Hello Kitty to metal/hard rock.

heheh, I actually almost mentioned ANb; a while back I had an idea to get them on the most-used list by having four or five editors each do every track on Altered States of America to something or other as a unique video.

It's a neat idea, but probably a bear as an actual project; too grindy to sit there and edit 101 videos to 5-second songs.

Anything good! ZING!

Seriously though many AMVs have been to very good songs by very talented bands. One song however that I would never expect to hear in an AMV is Steve Miller's Song for our Ancestors, becuase it is so perfectly obscure that I am sure at least for some of you it is the first time you have ever heard of this song. That and for the most part of this purely instrumental piece there is simply silence.

I've heard of that song, and since this is the internet, I could be lying and you'd never know!

Oh, the power.
