Ok, I'm wanted to go out on a limb and buy a new anime series (full series). I just need some help picking one out. I've narrowed it down to these:
Ouran Host Club
Aquarian Age
RahXephon
Kaliedo Star
The Animes that I have:

Never seen Ouran so can't help you there.
Aquarian Age is good and short, only 3 DVDs, but kinda slow and confusing and ends on a weird note. No pun intended.
RahXephon is along the lines of an NGE in many ways, but a little boring.
Kaleido Star is not finished yet (Last DVD comes out in November). I like this series, but the drama is a little soap opraish and the dub is questionable even though it is ADV.
Of these three, I would have chosen Kaleido Star over Aquarian Age over RahXephon for the fact that the story is easy to follow and it gives you some laughes ( if you like pervered humour coming from a guy named Fool).

RahXephon as mentioned is very similar in nature to Evangelion. I liked it better, for a variety of reasons but plenty of people hate it for those very same reasons. (the animation is better, the main character isn't a whiny beech, and weirdly I liked the romantic twist. )
Kaleido Star is a perky happy show, that's almost impossible to not like. I give it a win. The second season isn't as good as the first, but the first wraps up well enough to make it worthwhile.

I just finnished season one of Kaleido Star, I would definately recommend it. Sora is just such an upbeat and humorous character she makes my day. The spirit of the stage is worth watching too. It is really a nice series of fun little dramas. It's good animation, very colorful. I think the dub is pretty good, maybe not the best but good. The story line is good and reaches a nice climax in the last episode. They wouldn't have needed a second season. This is a feal good anime, well worth the time if you like this type of anime.
RahXephon is based on the same story line as EVA but told from a different viewpiont. The animation and audio are fare better than EVA. I like it better than EVA.

Man, I'm drawn between RahXephon, Kaledio Star and Aquarian. I want something perky, as I am trying to draw away from the mecha and melancholy Anime, so I will probably head to Kaliedo and then to Aquarian. Sucks about Ouran, I was really looking forward to it. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait

Aquarian is kinda melencholy. In fact, not much happens now that I think about it. And the ending sucks. "I'm leaving on a jet plane, Don't know when I'll be back again."
As stated, Kaleido is perky... but Sora can be REALLY perky. Almost to the point where she can be slightly annoying. I don't know if it is beacuse of Cynthia Martinez's high voice or just her spunk. Madbunny is right. Even though I like New Wings, the flair is kinda gone after that last moment in the first season. But it is kinda weird watching the "last episode" and seeing an "On the next episode" bumper. The call is yours, just giving you some last minute insight. And check out Spirit of the Stage if you want to get a feel for the show if you have not seen anything about it yet.
