Deeper Meanings
I was wondering if you have ever taken notice to the opening songs to anime's you watch and see how the songs actually tie in with the anime itself. I know alot of people over look the fact and it seems like some just don't care if the songs words go with the anime or not. But really to me it's amazing to see how well they tie in. What do you guys think? Here is one of my favorite examples. This is the opening theme to GITS: 2nd Gig. Notice how the words seem to define GITS almost perfectly.
I'm a soldier, meaning that I'm
Both the defendent and the judge
I'm standing on both sides of the fire
Going around turns, overtaking death and life
I'm running to fight with the shadow of a lie
No matter how many threads deception would weave
Truth will show its face of light
Save your tears
for the day
when our pain is far behind
on your feet
come with me
we are soldiers stand or die
Save your fears
take your place
save them for the judgement day
fast and free
follow me
time to make the sacrifice
we rise or fall
What others ones have you seen or noticed.

I want to see one that DOESN'T have anything or very little to do with the anime. Do you really think whoever is in charge says "Oh, I like this song, and I'm head of a tv show. I think I'll put it in."

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

One more thing
I always thought there was a deeper meaning in the sailor moon them song
It always seemed like there was some kind of connection to the show...
Fighting evil by moonlight
Winning love by daylight
Never running from a real fight
She is the one named Sailor Moon
She will...never turn her back on a friend
She is... always there to defend
She is...the one on whom we can depend
She is the one named Sailor.....
.... Sailor Venus
.... Sailor Mercury
.... Sailor Mars
..... Sailor Jupiter
With secret powers
All so new to her
She is the one named Sailor Moon
Fighting evil by moonlight
Winning love by daylight
With her Sailor Scouts to help fight
She is the one named Sailor Moon
She is the one named Sailor Moon
She is the one . . . Sailor Moon
it could just be my imagination though...

Excel Saga's opener is pretty obviously from Excel and Hyatt's point of view; but I suppose that's what you get when you have the director write the lyrics (what you don't get is especially good lyrics).
I know I've seen more, but I can't remember.
Suga Shikao's "Yuudachi" from Boogiepop Phantom. Great song, but nothing whatsoever to do with the anime. And I think the same could be said for Boa's "Duvet" from Serial Experiments Lain (yet another way in which the two are alike).Orwell wrote:I want to see one that DOESN'T have anything or very little to do with the anime. I guess that most of songs have the connection not to add that some of songs were written especially for anime like Beyblade first season. But when talking about other connections then I think that FMA openings and endings.
