best/worst animation sequences
what do you think is the worst best/worst animation sequences for either opening songs or ending songs of anime and why?
Best
Gundam Wing Opening 1 (this opening is probably one of the best ive seen for an anime very fast and sets the mood for the show and actually gets you pumped up for it)
Gundam Wing Opening 2 (i thought this sequence was better then the first for the same reasons)
Fullmetal Alchemist opening 2 (very catching opening although i dont really think it says FMA its still very good)
Fullmetal Alchemist opening 4 (i think this is even better than Ready Steady Go)
Worst
Bleach opening 1(this opening was just horrible. good song but i dont think it really states what the show is about or gets you into the mood at all)
Gundam Wing ending (this is far worse then the Bleach opening. Releena walking around with her animal friends scary)

er... I think the first bleach one actually won some awards.
One that always annoyed me was the first gundam seed one with the random boob bounce silhouette.
Some ones I enjoyed were...
Melancholy of haurhi suzimaya
Ouran HSHC
Eva
Cowboy bebop
and there's probably more I can't think of at the moment.

I rather liked the first opening to Bleach. Sort of a 60's psychodelic throwback visually mixed with 80's style of music video editting and filming.
You have to give props to Bebop, as well.
Some of my personal favorites are the Ranma 1/2 openings, for the same reason I like the Bleach opening - throwbacks to 80's MTV. The ones that stand out the most for me are Zettai!, Friends, and Love Seeker.
Then, you have to give it up for the Gankutsuou closing theme, Won't See Me Comin'... it's so sexy...
And, of course, the Monster opening. Just. Kick. Ass. Music - awesome. Animation - Awesome. Feel - Creepy as Hell. Beautiful.

The Ergo Proxy opening is trippy, but I like it. Other likes are Zegapain, Ouran, Melancholy, and Fate/Stay Night. Don't care for most of the Bleach or Naruto openings. Scrapped Princess intro was fairly annoying iirc.

Ones that got old fast:
1. Steel Angel Kurumi [1] Ending
2. Hellsing [tv] .. the music made me want to use the members of Mr. Big as makeshift skis and leave them atop a very cold, desolate mountain.
3. Dragonball Z ending --stake me now.
4. YnM [DoD] Ending -- Japanese Mariachi music; who the hell was on crack when this was being recorded?
Ones that still don't suck:
1. Scarlet [Yes, the one from Ayashi no Ceres] Love the piano, followed by Aya's life in 1 minute.
2. both Ayashi no Ceres endings -- One and Cross my Heart, though admittedly, One is better. Great imagery, almost like you could sink your hand through the screen.
3. [Aii] Chu Seishen - Excel Saga Opening - This and the Afro song are great.
4. Trigun's Ending music .. wow.. even after years it still is great--especially since it's the still life that Vash just doesn't get.. relaxation, and peace.
5. Bebop's Real Folk Blues [along with Rain and Green Bird -images and songs are sublime together]
6. BoA's Duvet from SE Lain, not to mention the Ending theme, which escapes me right now. In Duvet, Lain seems confused by the entire set of circumstances, while in the end theme she is cradled in the wired, an infant loved by circuits more than 'mother' ever did.
7. Dream's My Will from Inuyasha. Still evokes good feelings after years and never gets old.
Okie, enough rambling... where did I put that prozac?![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
