haha i'm glad we share the same sentiments! glad that u noticed that ratings are always 4-5 stars no matter how great or horrible it is! it always spoilts my mood to watch amvs there. =x VERY few there are decent (notice i used the word decent, not even good) amvs, and if you noticed too, those amvs comes from a-m-v.org and those people are fellow members here! *faints*

I'd find it flattering if one of my good vids got up there. I know of exactly one video of mine that's on hosatchel (well, two but one I put up myself)--it's my first, and it's terrible. While it is flattering in a way to have videos posted elsewhere without permission, unfortunately it's hard to believe that peole are thinking anything besides 'ooh, shiney' when they repost AMVs.

actually its pretty much just like that... i was told to watermark my piece for a mep i was in, so it had my screenname in the corner..

i find this chick who basically took my mep piece (which by the way is available for individual dl so you dont have to get the whole mep to see it, but still has the watermark, ps. its also basically 1 scene retimed to music cause it was a "quickie" last minute deal)

anyways so chick takes my vid, chops it in half, and places it in two places in her "video"

1. still has the watermark
2. still has the "effects" that i put into the video (yay piano lines)

whatever, I dont get mad, instead i leave a comment on the entry for their video that pretty much says "hay im so awesome my screen name is in your video lolz"

kid ovbiously not picking up on the highly sarcastic reply, and slap on the wrist says back "oh yea i forgot to take that out, sorry"

i love how intelligent people on youtube are.... seriously :/

Don't look at the star ratings, look at the other numbers. If the above was true, then "Real Ninjas" and "Naruto's World" wouldn't be in the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/browse?t=a&p=1&s=mf&c=1&l=">Top Favorites (All Time) in Arts and Animation</a>.

It's one thing to give a video a high star rating; it's another to spread the link and get your friends to watch it; it's another still for them to continue the cycle.

325,000 downloads and a 4.5 out of 5 rating from 3840 ratings.

The #1 reason you can not rely on the reviews for most amvs on youtube.

It's the Naruto and Hinata video, right? Given that it's got that many hits, I have to wonder how well it would do at, say, AX (or another really big con with an audience vote)... I'm wondering how many of the You<a>T</a>ubers show up at those events?
