Watching through the show?

Paying attention to the plot? Listening to the voice actors? Looking at the animation? They use a lot of the same elements in both the shows, including a lot of the humor. I'm not saying the series are identical, but you can draw more comparisons between them than most other titles I've seen.

and I don't think that u can compare somthing as original as deathnote to a usual shonen
though I like HxH

Wow!
I thank all of you for your taking your time to help me out. I really appreciate it.

Of the animes you all mentioned I have already seen Rurouni Kenshin and Infinite Ryvius. I am also waiting impatiently for the next Death Note episode each week and I find it awesome.
Oh, and by the way, if you like Death Note you all prolly would like "Jingoku Shoujo" as well. It is pretty similar and from what I've seen (8-or-so episodes) the bad guys get what's coming to 'em =P.

I will definately try Soul Hunter and Yu Yu Hakusho and I will be on the lookout for another OVA of HxH.

Certainly not, but Hunter X Hunter isn't a "usual" shounen. It focuses more on the thoughtlines and the psychological aspects of the fighting than just attack attack attack. In that sense, its similar to Death Note.

That's also why I thought the comparison with Naruto (which is "attack attack attack" + poor plot) was odd, although I agree that it's very much like Rurouni Kenshin.
