Anime on drugs

I was wondering if anyone knows of any anime with strong references to drugs. I’m mainly looking for the use of heroin, or anything with needles in it.

Use of drugs doesn't seem very prevalent in anime. Perhaps they don't want to use this with young people watching them. The only one I can think of right off is parts of Boogiepop Phantom.

Let's see... pretty early on (within the first three episodes?) in Serial Experiments Lain, there's a guy who pops a "pill" of sorts (it's more of a mechanical device) that makes him start tripping out.

That's really the only example I can think off offhand. I hope it helps.

I checked Boogiepop, the drug is mostly seen in episode 4. It is called type-S and is used by dripping it into a flame.

Cowboy Bebop talks a bit about "Red Eye" in episode 1. But it's not like drug use is a common theme in the series.

If I remember right, there's a segment somewhere in Paranoia Agent, I think involving the security guard, where a few characters are doing lines of coke.

Yeah, drugs don't seem to be all that featured in Anime. Maybe Japan doesn't have as bad a drug problem as we do, considering they don't have land-routes to cartels like us.

the 'capsules' in akira. I know that in gankutso there is some refrence to drugs, geneshaft...I may be wrong on that one, tecknolize acctualy makes reference to heroin itself, and I know that there are drugs in Pet shop of horrors manga...but maybe not in the anime version

yea drugs are hard to come by in anime, its making my life very difficult.

Well, you might be able to consider Anime ITSELF a drug.
