MY GOD@!

this is exactly like annother article I read saying that a scifi channel directer was trying to get the rights to NEON GENESIS EVANGELION!!! to make a live action AMERICAN movie.

Why on earth would s/he do that? Certainly said director knows that the NGE live-action movie project isn't dead, just on hiatus?

Unless you mean that the director wanted to sign up to be the director for the movie, which makes a lot more sense, because IIRC, they still don't have a director for it.

I think the real horror of the article that was being mentioned is "Sci Fi Channel 'director'". I mean, have you seen the so called Sci Fi original movies that have been farted out in the last few years? Ass. Purely, completely, and unbelievably bad films, even for low budget films. These people are what the NGE live action film do not want as a director.

I see this as a cross between the Fast and the Furious movies and Days of Thunder with some Cannonball Run and Mad Max thrown in. If it is done as a serious project, but kept light-hearted without going into cheese, it may be decent. My fear is that they do a Scooby Doo, or god forbid a Godzilla...

I'd like the focus to be on the Mach 5 and the racing, with a side-story of Racer X and his relationship with Speed and Co. And they had better not have the little kid and that damned monkey get into their usual hijinks...

If there is a kid, he'd better not be an idiot. And the monkey should be just seen in the background or he's gonna be the next Jar Jar Binks... Oh, god. Phantom Menace flashbacks...

I'm losing hope...

Well, I think the the Wachowski Brothers will do a pretty decent job of directing it knowing how much anime has influenced their work
