You're asking the right questions. MP4, MKV, and Matroska are preferred; there are ways to get it to work in AVI, but it's not recommended. Don't know if Ogg Media supports it.Bane of Mist wrote:and what containers can I use it in?
No. Or even if you can, it's probably not a good idea for the same reason that using MPEG-4 ASP footage in Adobe Premiere is not a good idea.Bane of Mist wrote:Can I use it in premiere?

MKV = Matroska.

H.264/MPEG-4 AVC is compatible with MPEG-4 (.MP4), Matroska (.MKV), Quicktime (.MOV), 3GP (.3GP), MPEG-2 TS (.TS, possibly .MPG/MPEG), and a few other containers (some by using hacks).
Of these, I'd recommend using MP4 for compatibility or MKV for its features. The rest are mostly useful for specific purposes (3GP for cellphones, etc.), but I'd avoid them for general distribution.

<a href="http://www.squared5.com/">streamclip</a> can do it for you.
If you want a series to be longer just write fanfiction!(but don't make anyone read it)
