how can i apply the crop filter to a whole video?

Post by FCAdam » Fri Nov 24, 2006 12:06 am

Lots and lots of clips... i dont feel like indivdualy cropping 90+ of them, how could i do this all at once, keep in mind i want to avoid exporting the movie and cropping it like that as i dont have the time at the moment.

Thanks

Since you posted in the Adobe board, I'll assume you're talking about using Adobe Premiere.

If you've got Premiere Pro, then you can apply the Garbage Matte effect to one of your clips and adjust the settings to taste, then just copy it and paste it into the rest of your clips. Although you do have to paste it one clip at a time.

Alternatively, you could put all your clips on a new sequence, then drop that sequence into the timeline of your main sequence and just apply the Garbage Matte to that, so you only have to do it once.
(Nested sequences: just another reason Premiere Pro is better than the older versions.)

An easier way is probably to just export your video without cropping, and then crop it in avisynth or virtualdub.
