Gungrave looks good. I worry it will be too much like Cowboy Beebop which was good, but way way way too slow. And a little random, but less so than many.

Gungrave isn't anything like Cowboy Bebop. It's not even particularly "dark."

You mentioned Lain earlier, so I'll go ahead and suggest Texhnolyze, (even though it doesn't have any magic in it). It's from some of the same people that did Lain, and is very dark.

I am looking for something dark, heavy, mystical, and magical with a nice solid plot. But here is catch it has to have some action to it.
