Samurai Champloo: plenty of action.

Najica: Blitz Tactics: Hey Radical, girls with guns, big tits, panty shots unlimited, saving the world, more panty shots, what more can you ask. Oh yes, you can get it pretty cheep too.

Ninja Scroll: blood spraying everywhere, this was the first anime I saw, I quickly learned these weren't kids cartoons.

Noir: Girls with guns, the mafia, hidden adgendas, great musical score.

Gunslinger Girl: little girls with guns. This is sick and wrong on so many levels but is so interesting a story and so well written. The interaction between the girls and the adult "handlers" is great stuff.

Judging by the list of ones he's seen i think he wants ones that have come to america and on cartoon network lol.

You might also like Last Exile. It has beautiful Range Murata artwork, fighting, romance, saving the world, good plot, and the mystery of Exile.

Guyver: The Bio-Boosted Armor
To me this anime defines action and Violence, lost and lots of violence.

Get Backers
The story of two super powered misfits just trying to make a living.
I got some laughs out of this one

Basilisk
Ninjas+Blood= Awsome

Negima
Its mostly fan service and sillyness in the beginning but, there some fun action scenes near the end of the series.

Full Metal Panic
Guns,girls, and Girls with guns. Need I say more?

Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid
Same as before but, now with more Giant robot action and a more serious plot *bum bum bum*

Hellsing
This anime is not for the faint of heart, and with the new Hellsing Ultimate coming out soon. No line of insanity will be untouched.

Ghost in the Shell series
If you like a deep story line and an intricate plot, then this anime series is for you.

Fullmetal Alchemist. Great series, love it personally. You should definetly watch it :3
