This video has, literally, been in the making for the last year and a half. I started it when the fillers began but, unfortunately, it ended a month after that thanks to my busy schedule. Time passed and, amongst my friends, this video, only a minute and ten seconds in, was becoming more and more popular with my friends. So, finally, I decided I'd sit back down and finish it. That was early this month.
So, here I am, the video finally finished and the paint still wet. This has been my most ambitious product in the last several years, topped by none. I timed it better than all my other videos, focusing on something both exhilirating and visually captivating. I might be behind in the times as far as effects go, hell I never even touched After Effects for this, but I did my damned best with what I had.
Programs Used: Adobe Premiere 6.5 and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 & C2.
Timeline Narrative
0:09-0:22 - Main focus was the set up the fight and the style in which the vidoe would flow. I'm rather happy with how it turned out, especially Sasuke turning towards the camera, and Naruto's reaction.
0:22/23-0:36 - This is the real staple of how the video runs, the scenes and impacts on every major beat. I was luckily able to fit in the rooftop fight here, with Sakura running and Naruto and Sasuke abotu to impact. The editing here was both easier and harder than you'd think, mostly because I wanted it to look just right with it switching to and from Sakura. The lead in to the next part worked out well, though I always feels like it goes too fast.
0:37-0:50 - The flashbacks are made into a comparison of the two, their lives growing up coupled with their growing and recognition of eachother. Unfortunately, this took up a lot of flashback footage, which admitably kept me pretty dry as the video ran on for flashback material. It then culminates to something that really shows Naruto's end of the video here, something that really fits the lyrics. His absolute willingness to give all of himself to stop Sasuke.
Also, am I the only one that thought the manga version of Sasuke's arm through Naruto was so much cooler? I mean, it looked pain and gory. But oh well.
0:51-1:03 - That's right! I lipsynched! I also held frames and used the Brightness and Contrast effect! I'm actually proud of how those turned out and I absolutely was giddy when I started doing the split-screens. As well, thought the culmination to the calmness after this section worked out well with them charging at eachother.
1:04-1:11 - Just a bit of calm, some extraction on the beats, and a little explosion before the second 'section' of the video.
1:11-1:24 - Another long buildup to the real action, however I mostly used split-screening here. I may have gone a little overboard with it, but I felt like it worked. The flames turning into the scene of them facing off were done by a simple Transultion effect. This comes into play with Sasuke's hand reaction out of the water, which goes by so fast I don't think much people will notice or care. We're also introduced to my use of Color Pass, used to accentuate Sasuke's eyes and their outfits on certain occasions. Lastly, the last two seconds of this section is one of my avsolute favorite parts, with Naruto moving back and forth to the beat.
1:24/25-1:48 - A longer stretch this time. I really work the Brightness and Contrast on those key hits. Lipsynch is even more prominant as he the characters seem to be talking directly to eachother in mid battle and struggle. Naruto does the side-to-side thing with the music again and I'm a very happy camper. The punch to Naruto when he's rushing Sasuke really loses it's impact, though, in the heat of the battle. However, things lead well into the next part. More split screening with a bit of Color Pass. Cannot begin to tell you the pain in the ass it was to work with the Sasuke VS. Naruto Clone fight, but I'm rather satisfied with how it turned out.
1:48-1:56 - A little splitting and some RGB transulcent effects and we have the fire becoming their struggle and the explosion chinganging to fit the beat. I'm not too proud of the inverting, but I did with it what I could. The recluding black bars of the scene as Sasuke yells at Naruto and throws him was all I could do to help that scene match the pace and keep the lipsynch.
1:56-2:02 - I had fun with this part. Not so much because of the kyuubi being fit in, but the punch. That fucking punch and the contrast used before it.
2:02/03-2:29 - And this is what I feel was the toughest part of the video. I'd tried to work it out in my head for it to go a little slower, trying to work out the long guitar notes instead of matching the beats. In the end, I went with a mixture of it, trying to match the tone of the music but not lose the rush of the video. Still don't know how I feel about repeating the frames at the beginning of this section, but it was all I could do to keep Sasuke twisting with the music. Felt bad I couldn't show off a bit more of Naruto as the fox demon, but I made the sacrifice for a very well timed attack on Sasuke, leading up to yet ANOTHER side-by-side from Naruto.
2:30-2:43 - Stretching for flashbacks here. Used the best I could from the episode and made it last until the final buildup.
2:44-3:29 - And the final section. I used a lot of split screening, a lot of the RGB translucent effect. In the end, I felt like it built up to a satisfying ending.
Hope you enjoy!

Obviously you do care.
Too much lipsynch -- pointless really,
Questionable effects,
Black bars (just annoying),
Some strange interlacing,
Too many quick cuts.
--Your internal sync shows promise. Keep at it.
2.5/5

Re: Kaiser Realm Productions Presents: "I Don't Care&am
I agree with most of the points. The lipsynch was overdone, in the sense that it didn't really suit the style of video at all, and was distracting. I liked maybe 1/3 of the effects you used, mainly because what you did use was generally the stock-standard effects, with the default settings, and it doesn't look like you played around with it much. The black bars are annoying, considering you could have cropped them out, and also kept the filesize lower. I disagree on the synch though. You have *some* decent internal synch, however, particularly at the end, you override this with stock-standard "changing the clip on the same beat". Every second or so there's a repetitive beat, and instead of using it in a different way, you just keep changing the clip, and it gets predictable, destracting, and boring. It also makes what's happening on screen a little harder to follow considering that you're using a new clip each time, moving forward faster and faster, then you go back to a clip you showed previously, and its kinda jumping around.blaku92 wrote:Too much lipsynch -- pointless really,

I really didn't enjoy this one that much, but i think if with your next video you focus more on your internal synch, rather than just changing clips, and try to mix it up a bit with effects, then you might make something a little more appealing to me.
