Beta testers?

Post by macchinainterna » Fri Dec 15, 2006 12:12 am

First, I'm sorry if this is not the correct forum for this question.

Secondly, and at the risk of sounding like an idiot, what exactly are beta testers? How do they help?

Beta testers are used to look at your video and give thier opinion on what is done well, and what can be improved.

Actually, usually betas aren't full videos...they're typically just portions of a video that the editor wants advice on.

Beta testers reaffirm how great you really are. They tell you very useful things like the video is astounding, they worship the ground you walk on, you're the best editor on the org, etc. Some people don't seem to realize that the job of a beta tester is to boost the ego so they mistakenly tell you things they think need fixed in the video. These people are wrong, someone so great clearly doesn't need to fix anything. You can safely ignore those people and find someone else to pester into telling you how good you are.

At least, from what I've noticed this seems to be the commonly accepted definition of beta tester.

I heard through that LJ post I wrote forever ago that you wanted to beta something for me. I know it's been a while, but i'm sure not ALL beta's are like this. You're clearly not that petty.
