If anyone didn't know (yes, I'm spoiling it), yes, Kadokawa Pictures USA has the master license. The one that shocked me is that....

...oh go watch the video! Patricia Ja Lee is in it! If you guys don't know her, she played the Pink Power Ranger in Power Rangers Turbo and Power Rangers in Space.

I have to give props to them though. That is one hell of a marketing scheme they came up with! Will this be consider the greatest anime license announcement ever conceived?

And what was the most surprising to me is not the fact that Kadokawa USA is the master licensor, but is who is going to produce the North American version for them. My bets were on either of the companies in Texas...

It would be crazy if we had a rush of Haruhism fanatics making long lines on release day for Episode 1 like for the playstation 2 and 3

I'm still waiting for Koop's candy...

Anyways, it seems both the official Japanese Suzumiya site and the sos-dan.com fansite are both back to normal. As for the asosbrigade.com site, I don't think it's ever been normal.
