Voice acting surprise!

Post by Cloud Clone » Fri Dec 22, 2006 5:00 pm

So the grandpa from the cartoon Ben 10 is voiced by Paul Eiding--> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Eiding, who played the part of Colonel Campbell in the Metal Gear Solid series. As a fan of the games I was like "Whoa cool." What are some voice parts that you've recognized and gone "WTF sooprise!!"?

Darren Norris's collective roles have surprised the Hell out of me even nowadays...

Among his roles:
-Andy in Cowboy Bebop
-Vincent Volaju in Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' On Heaven's Door
-Dark Schneider in Bastard!!
...and here's where they get weird
-Cosmo and Mr. Turner in The Fairly Odd Parents
and
-Spottswoode in Team America: World Police

...now I look at Vincent and a little voice in my head thinks
"Jesus titty-fucking... CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIST--!!!"

Phil lamar http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0482851/, who was the voice of Vamp in Metal Gear Solid 2, is a long-time performer on Mad TV.

That was the most surprising thing that I noticed, but other lesser things of note were:

The voices of Samurai Jack, Green Lantern from "Justice League," and Static Shock.

and a billion others that are related to WB and CN, along with the judge on Family Guy, and even a cameo shot on Spider-man 2 on the train.

Dan Green.. everything from Tsuzuki [Yami No Matsuei] to Yugi Yami [Atem?] on YuGiOh! and various Pokemon, Digimon and other weird stuff.

Crispin Freeman.. Alucard and then... Hideki from Strawberry Eggs? Now all I can think about is a cross-dressing, blood sucking gym teacher named Alucard. *shudder*

Hilary Haag.. Karinka, the foul mouthed, sneaky and extra bitchy Steel Angel who wants bigger boobs and ass ... and Rebecca [Becky :P ], from PaniPoni Dash, the 11 year old genius teacher who thinks she's a badass when she drinks an entire can of soda
Now, don't feel bad. It's not you, it's me. I Don't Like You. -.-

It's not everyday you get a big name actor in an anime

Miyu Miyu, the cat in FLCL, is voiced by Hideaki Anno, the director of Neon Genisis Evangelion. He must have needed some time off from making psyco-analytical anime.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Brian Drummond (original Vegeta, Alan from Escaflowne, Zechs in Gundam Wing) plays the cat in Krypto. Doesn't even sound like him.
Probably too busy to be here right now.
