Hi there
Is it possible to improve downloaded video quality?
I would go out and buy the dvds, however they aren't out yet in australia.
So any insight on improving footage would be appreciated thanks.

It is possible, up to a point. The worse the video is, the more filtering will be needed. But excessive filtering brings its own set of problems.
The major method of improving video quality utilizes AviSynth, a frameserver which allows a video to be played back and filters to be added to smooth, sharpen, resize, crop, or otherwise alter the video. The resultant filtered video can be output to another file for use in video editing software, or frameserved directly into the editing program.
I suggest reading EADFAG, especially the sections on AviSynth and on Improving Visual Quality.
