LOOKING FOR AN ANIME PLEASE SUGGEST ONE TO ME :D

im currently looking for an anime where there is (1) main character and the anime has an overall darker theme. multiple animes are very appreciated.
if there is more than (1) character that's ok....but as long as it is MAINLY centered around one person....

Serial Experiments: Lain comes immediately to mind. Also maybe Paranoia Agent, but there are quite a few characters in that one.

Berserk's pretty dark and pretty much centers around one character I guess.

Death Note is an all around pretty dark story. The main character is a guy you are rooting for to win, only he happens to be a very evil protagonist. I think this anime does a good job of centering around Light, our "hero", however it does get a little side tracked at times with actual GOOD people trying to stop Light's whole mass-murdering thing...

Kite: centered around a girl assasin, the uncut version is best but very hentai. The censored version is ok.

Perfect Blue: a real psycological thriller.

Mermaid Forest: by the creator of Inuyasha, shows her darker side, centered around a boy and girl.

Witch Hunter Robbin: pretty dark story

Gunslinger Girl: several characters but centers around one girl and her handler. How can something so sick and wrong be such a great story?

Now and Then, Here and There: an emotionally depressing dark story.

Saikano: I haven't seen it, but I have heard it is darker than Now and then, Here and There.
