Photoshop Alternative - Paint.NET

Has anyone on the site tried it? I installed it and looked around, just a quick glance, but I'm certainly impressed.

I wouldn't exactly call it a Photoshop alternative. Even the products developer himself just calls it an ms paint alternative :p It doesn't have anywhere near the functionality of Photoshop, or for that matter, even the gimp. However, it does seem to be a very competent image editor very suitable for quite a few tasks. It appears definitely a lot more user-friendly than the gimp, so if it does everything you need, then I suppose its a definite alternative to buying something like Photoshop, just don't expect it to actually compete in features.

I tried it once. IIRC, I couldn't install it because it required XP SP2, and I refuse to get SP2.

I use it and like it. Its much more than an ms paint alternative. Definately a good option if you dont want to buy photoshop.
