I'll repeat my point again: even in the world where most of everything is crap (as it surely is, at ANY given time) - there is so much good, worthwhile music out there, that a sane person can't possibly have enough time to listen to it all. It's all a matter of searching.
I am lazy Oto.

Well, I think RANMA's looking for more classic rock. And classic rock isn't made any more. That's what makes it classic.

Once I can get off my Pain of Salvation kick, I might even be able to recommend some bands for you. Current bands that are still making good music you might be able to like.

You obviously don't regularly get stuck on two hour+ road trips where the driver sometimes (or often) listens to "mainstream radio bullshit." :?
That's why I have CDs, and leave my Sirius on Hair Nation (for when I'm borred and can't spare the attention to change CDs). And actually, I find myself driving for roughly 8-10 hours on a bi-weekly basis (yay for living four and a half hours away from home).

To note, I just noticed how I misread your post. But still, you could insist that it actually hurts you (and, if you're like me, it can drive you to a point of insanity) to have to listen to that kind of shit.

I sympathise. People often don't understand why it is I often shun many typical gatherings of my peers. It may sound retarded to some, but perhaps the connoisseurs will understand: I can not stand the music. I have to be really, really drunk to willingly be within a half-mile radius of a noise pollution device dispensing standard-issue Popsa
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I still buy CDs, tapes and vinyl albums. Almost every song in my iTunes library is directly copied from CDs I own.

Thanks flint. Some good classic rock would be nice. I was thinking about moving on to prog metal soon though. I finally heard some Dream Theater and I was pretty impressed.

I'd highly suggest Pain of Salvation, of course. Get some. If you don't like it at first, don't be discouraged. Put it away for a while, and then come back later. That's what I did, and they're my favorite band.

Check out the albums in this order: Remedy Lane, Entropia, Be, The Perfect Element, One Hour by the Concrete Lake.

But seriously, once I get back into the flow of things, I'll try to recommend some classic rock bands, not just prog.
Is it no wonder I haven't heard any good rap since 1999? Seems all the good rap artists where put on backburner or just don't get very much good play from anything mainstream anymore, then again they seem to be avoiding the mainstream o.O (and yes good rap artists exist, though I'd believe you if you found it hard to be true, they are almost mythological now).
Agreed. All the good Rap artists get put on the back burner, all you here is "I'm gonna shoot you with my gun, and stab you in the stomach.", or somthing to that extent. There are some quality songs in my opinon. Right now to me the best albums of the year(Rare good rap artists)

The Roots
Lupe Fiasco

Don't even get played on the radio much. Its retarded.
Oh god, that black dude with the afro is always making those damn trash ass music hip hop amvs...he needs to do something with techno or rock....

My sentiments exactly... thank god none of my friends like going to those establishments either...which is the cause of a lot of basement drinking and listening to everything from the dead kennedy's to CCR

Actually I remember me and a freind of mine went to a club (at the request of his girlfriend) and left justbecause nelly came on, but this was a good thing since we found an awesome cheap chinese food place open at like 1AM
