Compression on avisynth after saving movie file
alright i have saved the movie file as DV-avi (ntsc) onto my computer now in order to compress the file on avisynth/huffyuv it tells me to do this....
So, in order to make our lives infinitely more simple we are going to do three things:
1) Make an AVIsynth script file to import the video
2) Make a HuffYUV master of the video, for easier compatibility and stability
3) Export a wav of the audio stream.
To import DirectShow footage into an avisynth file, use this command:
DirectShowSource("C:\AMVExport\yourDVexport.avi",29.97)
Obviously, you need to change 29.97 to 25 if you have made a PAL DV file.
Try this in VirtualDubMod. If you want to use the "Open file via avisynth" option then choose the DirectShowSource template. You should now see your video but seeking will be hard if not impossible.
problem is i made the script like they said and tried to open it in virtual dub...and no dice. Can someone advice me what to do from saving it as a DV-avi file, thanks

[EDIT]
I forgot to mention i am using it at a convention,...here is how they want it sent to them...
Second rule should now read All videos must be in MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 format, but AVI files will also be accepted on a case by case basis, depending on codec
To submit your AMV, please mail a CD or DVD containing the file, as well as your name and email, to the following address:
i am using WMM2...so if someone can help me get it to that point from where i have it now, it would be much appreciated

ok i have compressed my file using huffyuv with fast recompress...now i need to compress my audio i do believe....the guid tells me this...
Exporting the Audio
To export the audio from your DV file, you need to import the avs file as above and then go to the Streams menu and choose Stream List.
It should look exactly like this with one PCM audio stream. With this stream selected like it is above, choose Save WAV form the options on the right. This will export the audio into a separate WAV file for easy access later.
That should be all - you will now be able to follow the rest of the guides exactly as they are and gain as good quality as you can get from Windows Movie Maker 2
the question i have is...
do i do this in virtual dub...if so
do i open the script i made or the compressed file i just made...or something else?

Um, methinks you already answered your own question on this one:DarkAshitaka wrote:do i do this in virtual dub...if so
