in my book i would say stealing the whole video and claiming it as their own...

atleast when using other people's amvs they are making something entirely new (cept in the few cases where they took the whole amv and changed only the song... )

No. Because unlike us, they have the law on their side so they could stop us (to some extent) if they felt we were stealing credit from them. The fact that they haven't even tried to stop us means they don't feel as strongly about it as your average editor does when he flags his own stolen vids on That Site.

lies, they already started, some anime companies (of very unknown or even known animes) have been loosing money cause some bright guys on youtube started to post the episodes there, so some companies started losing money cause of this (some people don´t bother to buy DVDs if they have episodes on youtube) and decided to put law at work on youtube, I dunno why they though AMV makers where doing the same, so they just put it this simple: "Youtube, delete all videos with *insert anime here* or we will shut you down", same has happened with musical companies, I got my Karma of the Heart AMV deleted from youtube, cause the company that has the rights of the song and the band asked youtube to delete every AMV with that song/band (though I have heard this problem only with J-music songs). The point is that I´m glad that a-m-v.org is more secure (until some stupid speak up again to start a problem, like the one of evanescence and blabla ) and that the companies will start using their rights if they start loosing money

and to the topic, well I haven´t found yet someone posting my AMVs taking credit for them, they gave me credit, though if I find someone I will post curses in the video XDDDDDD, nah, I will let him/her be

The word filter replaces the name of the site with 'boochsack'. I find it amusing.

Plus, if you sue YT, you are suing Google who has some serious cash and shareholders who don't like the idea of having to pay out money in damages in a lawsuit.

At least the org is proactive in removing offending material. Try uploading an entire episode of Naruto here and see what happens...

This brings me to my idea. I want to make a video that has a list of all these people's boochsack names. THose who've stolen from us, the ones who spent the time to make something good. I don't want to slander them, I won't make it dirty, but I will call these people Liars and I want to show a lot of people who these unsavory individuals are.

Could you do this? So that I could then steal it, cut your name off the front of it, put my crappy tag on it, upload it to youtube, and take the credit? :o

What do you think about just deleting boochsack-announcement?
I mean: Ok, this as an amv forum and I hopefully guess that this is the biggest one, but it is the a-m-v.org forum and not he boochsack.com one.
Also usealy those threads end in flaming.

That has nothing to do with amvs. I was talking about them targetting amvs that 'use their footage' the way we target liars who steal credit for our amvs. It's not the same as what you're talking about. Those sweeps were never targetting amvs and they still aren't. Amvs are the petty thieves and squatters getting blown up along with the terrorists, that's all. Not quite innocent bystanders no one will miss when the smoke clears because they shouldn't have been squatting there to begin with.

someone stole my name and claimed to be me... even after i sent them a PM and everything... not only that, they edited one of my hentai vids so that they could put it on there... censorship isnt what addys all about... so... AddictionAMV4000 you are a thief!
