DV-AVI (NTSC) in WMM

Post by BlaCk_PeArL_27 » Fri Feb 09, 2007 6:25 pm

I just got finished to edit my project and I save it in .wmv and also of course I remove again the CCCP and FFDshow :( . Because same problem appear it won't let me edit the whole or even clips less 30 sec in the timeline.

My problem I had today... when I save my project in .wmv is pretty sure no problem (it is 32.4 MB .wmv). Then I search abit in (WMM) Movie Setting then I choose other settings > DV-AVI (NTSC). I try this is small clips then I try also in Vdub it works fine so I import the save movie I finshed awhile ago again in WMM then I put all of those in the timeline.

Now I'm attempting to save whole movie clips I made in .wmv but when it finished  my laptop show a stripe white bars before it's shut down itself.

This scared me the most it didn't happen this to me before and that's I want to know?
When I try to save the movie in DV-AVI I got that pretty scary situation?

Does anyone know why it act my laptop in that way? or just I did something wrong before I save the movie :? ?

Don't try to produce the entire video at once. DV-AVI takes a up a lot of space and memory. Produce the video in sections.

Don't convert from wmv to DV-AVI. The quality loss is gross. There's no reason to do that.

If you want your video in avi format, open the wmv in Virtualdub and convert it to huffyuv or lagarith, or straight to xvid.

I try that but it's doesn't show up in Files of type when I open, so I go in ALL Types (*.*) but I got error from Vdub when it try to open the .wmv files :?
Not Supported: Microsoft owns patent #6,041,345 on the ASF file format, preventing third-party applications from extracting data from ASF files.
ASF file format support was removed as of V1.3d at the request of Microsoft and to avoid patent infrigement claims, and such VirtualDub no longer supprts ASf. Please do not ask for version that do.
