ANIME... not cartoon...

OK so sure anime is animation which cartoons are but you gotta consider the content cartoons here in america never last they have no real plot and get boring faster than shinji whining, anime deals with content that soap opras couldnt begin to handle. you never saw cartoons with porn in them(hentai) you never saw carttons with gay men in them(yaoi) never saw a cartoon which will make you second guess your life(Eva) never saw a cartoon that gave you so much false hope for a good relationship(Love HIna Kare Kano).To me there is a huge difference between cartoons and anime. but this is just my opinion, and never say that anime is a cartoon aroumnd me.

Samurai Jack made me second guess about what I should do with my life. Always fighting for the greater good, at the sacrifice of your own happyness. Kinda like Rokusho (Meadabots).

Yeah Non-Profesional,... Cartoons are very shallow and unimaginative! ANIME IS SO COOL!!!!!!! YES!!! Anime is filled with so much feeling and emotion!!! Anime is so COMPLEX!!!! Anime has the ability to extend farther than any other animated media!! YEAH!!!! Sure... Anime trends do occur often, but that's because at least Japanese Animators can make something cool enough to become trendy!! Not even Disney has ever made something that started a trend! They really don't make to many Original movies either! Most of what they make is just from Books or Plays or something! Well... maybe Anime comes from Manga, but that's alot more original and COOLER than what Disney does.

Don't worry, Anime Jedi. It's just a phase that people who are transferring from American media to Japanese media go through. Some students respect the Master, some students are envious and immature. Somehow, I've always known what Anime is, so I never even considered Anime as Cartoons. But some people just won't get racist-like and stereotype-like opinions out of their head.

If someone tells me that Anime and Cartoons are the same, I just say "Ummm... No" in one of those "What kind of idiot-stupid-loser-dork-freak are you?" voices. And since the only reason why people think that Anime and Cartoons are the same is because they are both animated, (such a primative and basic thought it is) I can always also say "You're just a ignorant primative fool who can only grasp the most basic of concepts! Ooohh wow!! Anime and Cartoons are animated!!!! OOOOOH, THEY'RE SUDDENLY THE SAME!!!" And add alot of the other things I've listed in my other post. They're usually speechless when it's all done. Especially if you scream it all! I mean, even if you don't understand it, you can still get the idea that seriously, Anime and Cartoons are not the same. Of course, if someone is saying that Anime and Cartoons are the same just to make you mad, you ignore them just to make THEM mad!! Yeah!! It's really pathetic what these people will do to try to make you mad with this "Anime Cartoon Same Thing" idea.

And now, for a few things I forgot to mention.

I do realize that "Japanese Cartoons" (though the oxymoron it is when you actually think about it) is the way how those not "in the club" remember Anime. Actually... those people don't really know Anime. Even if you're not much of an Anime or very knowledgable of Anime, (why would you be here anyways?) you should still respect this difference between Anime and Cartoons. You know that one is called Anime, and the other is called Cartoons, and THAT should be enough! If you truly don't know enough about both Anime and Cartoons to realize the difference between them, then how could you TRULY say that they are the same?

I do think that Anime desreves more respect than Cartoons too. And Anime definitely deserves alot more respect than it's getting now. Why would tell Anime fans that Anime and Cartoons are the same other than to be mean, jealous, or just plain rude and disrepectful and immature?! There's no way that you could honestly believe that they are actually different! You just wanna try to get in Anime fans' faces!

It's an awesome show. Has a lot of action, and a cool plot. A samurai's village is attacked by an evil shape shifting sorcerer. The samurai is sent away (as a child) to train and gain much knowledge. He returns one day and almost destroys the evil guy. As a last move, the evil guy send the samurai into the future, which, since the samurai has been gone, is ruled by the evil guy. Now the samurai tries to find his way home, at the same time kickin' the evil guy's henchmen's butts.

Anyways, I actually don't like the theme song. I find it too repetitive and doesn't match the show very well.

I hate it when that happens, you want to type up something good and meaningful, but then find out that you're already behind. Somehow we've got to combine speed, accuracy and great ideas all in one. But that's really hard to do.

Anyways, I think what Chef means, is that the idea where you post and a bunch of other people have posted before is really frustrating in the "What does this word mean to you?" threads. Since the idea is to respond to the person before using only one word. Therefor, it's easy for someone to beat you to the punch, and you're left out looking like you're too slow.
