Define "TOO good". Can there be too much of a good thing in AMV?
lol definitely!! Too much Beat sync (ie cheesy flairs just to catch the beat) and/ or too much lyric sync. You can DEFINITELY have too much of a good thing.

pretty much ANY lyric sync has the possibility of being VERY cheesy, I've found.

lol, I'll agree...somewhat...

Lyric synch, in and of itself, I actually love to no end. I like it when I find a video that someone has taken the time to listen to the song and actually find things to match what's being conveyed, rather than just throwing random clips in right and left because they look cool.

Where it becomes cheesy is when you have a lovely lyric that's a metaphor that people edit to in the literal sense...back in the days of Evanescence vids, I saw more than one drama video done to "My Immortal" that put images of wounded and bandaged people to the lyric "these wounds won't seem to heal." Completely and totally ruined those videos for me, even if they were well edited technically.

Now, if you're trying to be cheesy on purpose and doing a comedy, then that kind of thing is fine...but I agree with Jadd when she said that drama vids shouldn't be laughed at.

Other things that ruin a video for me: watermarks, subs, screwed up aspect ratios and poor video/audio quality.

Lyric sync is practically non-existent, at least when it comes to
narrative lyrics.

how can people say lyric sync is over rated? that's the majority of the comedy genre.

generic music/anime used in a cliche manner, effects with no reason, bad encoding/source/watermark/etc.

You know sometimes how videos will play, stop for a split second, skip that split second, and keep playing and it does this in steady rythm?
Um... no, I don't. How fast is your CPU?

Other people already answered your other issues, so I won't repeat material.

Subtitles in an AMV definitely bother me and I am happy I'm not alone in that. I also really don't like when I see really long clips that I know are unaltered/unedited and they just run for like... half the video. T_T I also don't think it's great when there's excessive talking characters that don't go along with the music.
