Lyric synch, in and of itself, I actually love to no end. I like it when I find a video that someone has taken the time to listen to the song and actually find things to match what's being conveyed, rather than just throwing random clips in right and left because they look cool.
Where it becomes cheesy is when you have a lovely lyric that's a metaphor that people edit to in the literal sense...back in the days of Evanescence vids, I saw more than one drama video done to "My Immortal" that put images of wounded and bandaged people to the lyric "these wounds won't seem to heal."
Completely and totally ruined those videos for me, even if they were well edited technically.
Now, if you're trying to be cheesy on purpose and doing a comedy, then that kind of thing is fine...but I agree with Jadd when she said that drama vids shouldn't be laughed at.
Other things that ruin a video for me: watermarks, subs, screwed up aspect ratios and poor video/audio quality.
