Acceptable Content?

Post by Spectral_Spiral » Wed Feb 21, 2007 11:56 am

The Excel Saga, while primarily silly, can also by VERY bloody. Would a site admin please confirm whether the amv I made has an acceptable level of violence to be uploaded.

I also read in a post in the Site Help forum that unacceptable videos can not be directly linked and can only be indirectly linked, though I don't remember seeing this elsewhere on the site. Is that true?

Content guidelines regarding gore (not strictly blood) are for realistic gory scenes. Stuff like Elfen Lied, Gantz, and Beserk where effort was made to show realistic gory violence is what the guidelines are there for, not for comedic, "cartoony" blood and such. Likewise, the nudity guidelines are there for detailed depictions of genitalia and not nude maho shojo transformation scenes.

It's nice to see that some people take the time to ask if they're doing things within the guidelines though.

To the powers that be: "is this explained thoroughly in the faqs anywhere? Because i recall seeing it pop up every 6 months or more."

i believe its in the "rules" when you go to upload a video

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... upload.php

that page
Excessive graphic violence. Examples include seeing innards, dismemberment and decapitation. If you think a video is borderline, contact an admin and get it cleared before uploading.

Ah, well it's difficult to get more clear than that I guess. Maybe something about "realism" should be added if that is the intent (as i've always gathered it to be).

This post is following the 'if you think a video is borderline, contact an admin'. And my concern for borderline was decapitation, emaciation, roasted flesh, and a literal river of blood washing away buildings.

hayatt and the two robinmatsus (i spelled that wrong im sure) they are the only things i would consider borderline..

though you gotta admit menchi playing with hayatt's decaptitated head is pretty funny XD

but i really think that they are more along the lines of stuff thats alot more graphic... but im not a mod, so dont take my word for it
