What Manga would you like to see serialized?
I'm sure I'm not alone in this boat. I've collected many manga over the years, most of which have not been turned into anime. Maybe it's morbid curiosity, but I really want to see some of these given the opportunity to be animated. Here's a few, with reasons.
Mars - Fuyumi Soryo created a great storyline here, added a dash of psychosis, neurosis and peppered it with greed, lust and incest. I love the clean look of her drawing and wonder how it would come across when mixed with motion and color.
Rebirth & King of Hell - Yes, I know these will NEVER be turned into anime, but still, just thinking about Deshwitat and Majeh respectively... wow.
Pretty Face - This manga was ended rather abruptly due to waning interest after the first 6 or 7 books, but the storyline rocks! Boy is in a terribly disfiguring accident and, while in a coma, undergoes plastic surgery. However, the doctor who performed the surgeries found only one personal possession on his patient, a picture of a girl. Since the doctor is a little [!] whacky, he assumes his patient was a transvestite and fixes him up to look just like the picture. Boy awakens from coma right before he's about to be turned from a rooster to a hen. And that's just the beginning.
Eerie Queerie - Morbid curiosity factor.

Now, don't feel bad. It's not you, it's me. I Don't Like You. -.-

Blasphemy! If there is one manga that was specifically designed for it's art form, this is it. An anime adaptation would take away all the charm, the different art styles used to portray the different scenes, not to mention the link between all the manga in the story and the fact you're reading one, something the author truly uses to his advantage.Otohiko wrote:20th Century Boys - if Monster was awesome as anime, this has 20x the potential to be all the awesomer an anime along the same vein.
Just read 20th Century Boys. In my opinion, the greatest manga ever written.

I'm not sure about that though. I would've said the same about Monster had I not seen it as anime first; Death Note was likewise quoted by some as a 'gold standard' for non-anime-able titles - and yet look, they both worked out to be top-class anime.Greggus1 wrote:Blasphemy! I think adaptining it to anime would force some creative visual solutions which is exactly what the world of anime needs in my humble opinion. I really haven't seen anything in there that was non-negotiable visually.
Of course it was designed for a manga - and I'd never argue otherwise, but I think anime would do it just as well so long as it's approached intelligently, and again I think we have enough precedents to confirm that something of this complexity can be adapted. I certainly don't think it'd ruin it. In fact I still believe it would be automatically my #1 favorite anime were it made, just as it's my #1 favorite manga.
(I have to admit that I even have AMV ideas for this already which would never work with another source...)
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Her Majesty's Dog
This is the only manga I have that has not been made into an anime series (I've only just gotten into it all). The storyline is pretty good, though some may say it's been done before and the main character is very wooden (but she's supposed to be!), but I really like it. It's a high school romance/comedy/angst story, and that's not something I generally like, so if I like it there's got to be something to it.
By the way, I'm new here. Hi everyone!
