That, and I always love it when a video uses an anime that I've never seen and makes its own storyline. To use a cliche example, Whisper of the Beast does this really well. But it depends a lot on the AMV. I like all kinds of AMVs for various reasons. You kind of have to take it on a case-by-case basis.
