This is the official Ikki Tousen discussion thread. Ostensibly, it is for the sequel subtitled "Dragon Destiny", but since there wasn't a thread for the original series and the new series appears to be a continuation of the original series continuity, until further notice, this thread applies to both series.

Saw ep 1 of Dragon Destiny and have the entire original series...

[which I think is better than Tenjou Tenge due to having an actual 'ending'...]

Ohhh Ikki Tousen! Isn't there an english manga counterpart to this anime? I believe Battle Vixens is it.

I got it...

TERRIBLE title translation but the dialogue is very unorthadox. [you've got to read the manga knowing that these people are NOT trying to be Japanese in any way...]

phrases like:

Damn, they are big, I can't see my feet.
It's PORKIN' time.
She's good for fighting, you're good for fcking...
etc.

Liberal in its translation, title name sux, but as far as fun-fun fanservice fighting is concerned, I think Tenjou could learn well from Yuji Shiozaki. That and I'm a cat-girl fan... [most of the Yuji Shiozaki art has cat-like expressions to them]

Finally saw Dragon Destiny ep 01 subbed and I gotta say, after looking at the RAW [mind translating it], then the subs, my knowledge of the Japanese language amazed me...

But it seems that it's not really THAT close to the manga continuation. As if Hakufu upped and disappeared or something...

But the new budget they're working with [high quality sexy], and the new manga characters their inserting, [Kanu HOW WE LOVE YOU!], seems they're making a nice new spin on things...

That and the new ending sequence is uh, very EYE popping...

I watched ep 1 of Dragon Destiny. They seem to be pushing plot. This would work better if there was a plot of significance to push.

First series was 12 eps with a decent ending. "Life Goes On" motif...

Making this second series: Dragon Destiny, seems to take the spotlight off Hakufu and her marvelous assets and moving them onto Unchou's Trio and their assets...

New girls from the manga have appeared who I believed NEEDED to have been in the anime to start with.

Fact that they're sexy beyond all belief and that just looking at them can cause most young men to change their underwear has NOTHING to do with it I'm certain...

The manga seems to be an eternal entanglement of weird plots coupled with fanservice...

The new series seems to try to do that as well. Here's hoping it has a cohesive ending like the first series did... ^_^

Ep 2 just came out. Most interesting opening...

As before, the music has a nice upbeat feel to both OP and ED so grabbing both songs [like I did for the first season] sounds like a good idea... ^_^

Seems the war continues with a nice ??? cliffhanger at the end. It's following the manga to a degree but the end of ep 2 didn't really remind me of anything that happened in the manga.

Like, I'm now wondering why Shimei shows up and I can't remember what the dragon orb she grabbed from China is for.

Hopefully, they'll fill in all said plot-holes in following eps as to wtf is going on.

That and having Kanu fight nearly topless with sexcellent use of hair-over-boobs censorship was quite amusing / exciting at the same time.

Too bad everyone she fought got pwned in a heartbeat. Maybe future fights will be a bit more drawn out.

Here's hoping!

Anyone know how long this series will be?

Hakufu is back [at end of ep 3], and looked cool for an ENTIRE 2 mins!

[landing from the top of a school building leaving a dragon emblem in your wake is definitely under the definition of 'badass cool']

At any rate, seems the warriors are trying to eschew their destinies using some artificact [which from what I can tell isn't in the manga but the events thus far have been almost frame for frame from the manga]

most impressive...
wish the subbers would move a little faster
