that is not true. cartoons are art, anything original and drawn is art.

I have to agree with you, and most people at my school thinks anything that comes from Japan is anime! We know thats not all true. DBZ isnt anime, people thinks it is cuz they like it so much but fuck that im telling you its not. Anime is placed in the future or past with people with the hair and eyes shapes and size. Oh yea, what really pisses me off is when my friends whom seen anime films say well most of everything on cartoon network is anime, that so pisses me off! You can disagree with me if ya want or whatever, but im sticking to my guns and what I know!

well youre dumb. in the american definition, ANY animated series from japan is anime...i suppose unless it was intentionally drawn in a different style. the japanese define anything animated as anime. under both definitions DBZ is anime, and under the japanese so is everything on cartoon network.

Horrible, lazy, chicken scratchs being called art? Very perverted and degrading dirty Porn as art? (I'm not talking about every piece of Adult media... just those ones whose only intentions is to get you hooked on by J.O-ing. Because nudity should be beautiful and should be an art, and most of it is..... but Porns are usually just so unimaginative and lazily and thoughtlessly perverted) It's just an excuse! People do their worst and hide behind the fake truth that it's art just because they say so.

There is a certain beauty behind art that is not found in any Cartoons, but definetely in found in most Anime.

I don't care how the Japanese define Anime..... they're insulting their own style if they actually say that everthing on Cartoon Network is Anime.....

I say that someone should teach people in Japan the word "Cartoon" so that they can start labeling them different from Anime. Causes that's probably the only reason why they would called them Anime in the first place, because there are no other words for "Animation".

anime is the japanese word for animation. how can they not call cn's programming anime?
