shojo-ai/yuri and shonen-ai/yaoi anime

hi all,

i'm helping to organize a queer film festival in india, and we'd like to show some shojo and shonen anime -- films, TV anime, music videos.

i'm finding out about copyright issues with big-time things like Kannazuki no Miko and Marimite ... but we're definitely looking for underground stuff and stuff thats not so well known. any ideas on whom i can contact? directors, distributors, anime-fans ... anyone.

let me know if you want more detail on the film fest..

You're going to have copyright issues no matter what series you show, just because they're all licensed. If you're really worried about it, maybe you can get a blanket license like they use for amv contests at conventions.

This has a pretty comprehensive list of shoujo-ai titles that might be of interest. Though I have to say, over half of the titles are REALLY stretching in fitting the actual definition.

So I suggest these instead:

Strawberry Panic! (one of the bigger shoujo-ai titles; don't you DARE forget this one)
Simoun
Kannazuki no Miko (this too; luckily you did mention it)
Marimite
Kashimashi ~ Girl Meets Girl ~
Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito

is there no anime outside of the copyrighted ones? you know, underground, unreleased anime? where can i find it? there so much of that stuff in other kinds of film..

and suturoberi panikku! ? I'm not likely to forget that.
