Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Scintilla > because the entire video was quite bad quality and awfully big, I'm recompressing everything all over again, including the sound.. the current versions will be available until I've recompressed and hopefully then I'll have better results at a lower filesize.
But thanks for the tip on using an MP3. I'll keep that in mind

Okay, well I finally am replying:
I do like the song, it was a cute song, but I didn't like the subtitles, although they were intentional. I can always look at translations of the song, but i don't want to see them while I'm watching the video.
I also wasn't real thrilled with about 3:09 -- 3:20. It was a little too spaztic for me, although the music was fast paced. You told a lot of story in that little short time, but it was still too quick.
Other wise, I enjoyed the rest of the video. It was cute, okay quality (though it was smaller res then i had hoped for...), good anime and song choice.
4/5

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated! Now to get back on those points..kikai_saigono wrote:Okay, well I finally am replying
Song > When I heard the song I knew it was something I wanted to make an AMV of my own to, I'm glad it's gone down well. It's one of the songs that's instantly likeable I think - it certainly was for me, and it was quite easy to edit to.
Subtitles > The subtitles.. I've had a few comments on the subtitles, so I'm currently encoding a version without any subs so there's a choice. I like it with the subtitles personally, but I guess it's not everyone's taste. I'm hoping to compress the subless version once it's converted and have it up tonight so subs are optional for anyone who downloads it in the future.
3:09-3:20 > Both instrumentals in the video were very hard to time, pace and plan. I didn't want to go overboard but I guess I did.. sorry about that ^^;
Quality > I'm guessing you watched the 640x360 3viX version - thankfully the quality problem's also been resolved with a 848x480 XviD version, which is a lot better than the crummy 3viX version I had to squeeze into <100mb.
Thanks again for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it

Thank you! And thanks for your opinion tooFalconone wrote:It was really not bad, good job
Thank you very much! Especially with the lyric sync, I was aiming to make it as accurate as I could possibly get with the footage in the series, so I'm glad someone enjoyed it.JCD wrote:I really liked this video, despite the so-so cover version of an old classic. Definetely a keeper.
I vote for an anamorphic softsubbed version. Since I didn't need the subs at all :O (duh). On that note, I need to compliment for accurate and good lyricsynch.
Musically, the original version is really good, but this one had more workability AMV-wise, I think
Also, for anyone interested, I've got a subless version up now for anyone who doesn't like/need the subtitles. Softsubs may come later but for now there's a choice until I figure them out.

Thank you both!
Fizziks > The giant robots are awesome, but totally inappropriate for this video.. as far as I'm aware, I only used 2 scenes with giant robots (both very early in the video), and considering the amount of robots there are in key scenes seeing if I could make a video with as few as possible was a fun challenge
