I saw this rule in last years contest. I also saw that the winning videos were sometimes several years old. I don't really understand the point of putting in rules such as this if they're only recommendations and not actual rules.Entries are to be preferably less than a year old.
Same goes for issues concerning source footage:
You contradict this rule in this very thread and then say it's just a recommendation. The use of fansubs/downloaded footage is not accepted and will result in immediate disqualification.
That rule is just silly...Entries can have been entered in, though not won awards, in any other competitions at time of submission. Any video found to have won awards at other competitions at time of entry will be disqualified.
You guys need to be a little more thorough when outlining the rules.
what about the following:
- Videos entered in previous Supanova competitions.
- Time limit for AMVs? (technically someone could enter a 20 minute video under your current rules)
- Formats for mailing entries (you're not telling people to just include the videos like they would with a digital entry so someone could easily think to make a DVD out of their video, complete with menus... its possible >.>)
- Information required for both digital and mail entries.
Productive enough for you Jacky?
Though, even with those changes it's still too corporatized for my liking
