Need help making effects

For video 2 & 3 it's probably the easiest way to just use crop (in my opinion) - garbage matte lets you move points, instead of sides, so it might be that you accidently have a side a bit crooked/slant (yeah, I used Babelfish to find these words, but you know what I mean).

Problem with Crop is that it doesn't allow the area around what's left of the video to be transparent: instead, it fills it with a color you specify. At least, in Premiere 5.1 and Premiere Pro.

I have no idea what version of Premiere Pro you're using, but the AMVs in my signature are done with Pro 1.5 and Pro 2.0 and as you can see, the crop really "cuts off" the sides and doesn't "fills it up" with a color.

@Epical Zamora, you also might look into turning the track with the greyscale matte off AKA making it not visible by clicking on the "eye"-icon or else you will see the matte.

The only one there was in 2003, that's what version. Yeah, that's probably why. I never understood why they wouldn't give us the option to skip the fill on earlier versions. Okay, objection withdrawn.

I'm using premiere pro and big thanks Scintilla for pointing out the matte effect , its really hard for me to work with English software when English is my third language >.< It did very well what I had planned =}
