Need Aegisub tut

I have been a real bother lately, however I really need to know how this thing works. Could someone please explain me how to get started with Aegisub?

Do you have any idea how karaoke timed subtitle files are made or where to be downloaded. I did google this, no result..

I think you'd be better off looking in a fansub-related forum for the info you're looking for. I know several are actually nice (and don't have their heads up their asses) and will actually explain how it is they do their karaoke effects.
