How do you get fame here?

Post by Banass » Tue Mar 27, 2007 9:18 pm

Maybe that it is just me, but it seems that being known on this site is kind of hard.
It is always the same 10-15 creators who attracts all the others. Everything they create is great/fabulous/marvellous, just because they have made 1 or 2 hits in the past.

New AMV makers don't have to be ignored. Support would be more appreciated.

Oh and don't make DBZ videos, which is all you seem to make.

I'm going to tell you what every other person is going to say - the reason I know this is because I posed the exact same question a long time go.

They're going to tell you, "Make a good video and you'll get noticed."

Other ways are to post often with helpful or relevant information, comment a lot on other people's videos with constructive criticism, and be a generally positive-thinking member. This shows that you care about the hobby, as well as the community. People like that tend to be the ones who get noticed, in addition to doing great AMVs.

I'm not famous at all but i'll just throw in my 2 cents on this topic

Well, there are a number of leet amv makers who have been around for a long time and have a lot of skill, they were with this site for a long time and have produced a lot of great amvs, including many of the most famous ones on the top 10% list so they just became really well known

for anyone else who wants to become famous they have to take a few more steps.

Step 1: If you want to become famous you first need to make a really awsome amv that will make most people who watch it agree that it is, indeed, awsome
Step 2: You have to get people to watch your amv, i'm sure there are some amvs on this site that are increadibly amazing but have almost zero hits simply because no one knows they exist.
The quickest way to do this is to post them on the announcement thread, and hopefully enough people will post comments about how awsome it is to convince more people to watch it
Another way is to enter it in a contest of some repute before posting it here so that lots of people are exposed to it and by word if mouth people find out about it
Step 3: Make sure people know that YOU made the increadibly awsome amv they just watched so that when you release your next increadibly awsome amv they can all some swarming to see it
Step 4: Keep making increadibly awsome amvs consistantly cause if you start making crappy ones your fan club will lose interst
Step 5: Hope that you are just lucky enough to have all of the above steps work perfectly and then you might just become a famous name on the org

In short, there are thousands of editors on this site probably, but only those who make great pieces of work, can get people to watch those pieces of work, and do that consistantly will become famous

personally i just make amvs for fun and if people who happen to watch them like them and send me a quick comment saying so then i'm happy

Well, about DBZ, I made a lot of vid with these 'cause it was the only series that I was able to use, until I learn about amvapp.

Now, I'm intending to getting better. I've learned my editing software. I can use any series now and I planned to participate in a contest this april (submit a vid)

So, thanks for the tips, everyone.

I always reply to this with "conventions" (hey, it worked for me), but looks like that's already been covered this time.
