Or do both. Kick someone's ass and then become their bitch. No one will know where you're coming from.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Or you could become an ass by kicking someone's bitch.

Impress us. Make us pay attention to you. If you want our attention, you have to earn it. If you want our respect, again, you must earn it. Nothing is free, especially in a gift economy. There are thousands of mediocre and worse editors. If you want recognition as different, show that you are. We are not here to blow sunshine up your ass and be your continual ego-boost.

Well, a few are, but I most certainly am not. If you want me to respect you as an editor, impress me.

Failing that, become a visimod. Lot harder than you might think. :amv:

It is always the same 10-15 creators who attracts all the others. Everything they create is great/fabulous/marvellous, just because they have made 1 or 2 hits in the past.

New AMV makers don't have to be ignored. Support would be more appreciated.
Im only known for 2 things... making a ton of videos, and making bad videos... sooooo you dont always have to be good to be known... but then again when i announce an amv i usually only get like 3 comments...

there really is no way to get famous other then to find a group of people on here, impress them and tell them to comment on your videos... thats what ileia did and she isnt really that good.... ooo it burns dont it?

Making AMV's or any music video for that matter is more about self-gratification. Think of all the outstanding AMV makers as well as great editors out there. They are not quote "Famous" and very few of them get metions of there work. Think of all the hours they spend editing the scenes for movies like Lord of the rings.

I was speaking more in a general perspective.

How do you get fame here?

Make an amv that tells the viewer you have no life. A well synched amv with plenty of masking effects is but one way to achive such a goal. In the end, that's all it really comes down to; making an amv worthy of recognition. If it's really THAT good, it'll (hopefully) draw it's fair share of attention in the announcement forum, get high op scores, and win contests.

So yeah, sorry to beat the dead horse even further, but it's just as dj said--make a good amv.

There are other methods to earn fame on the org too of course. In all actuality, you don't need a ounce of editting skill either. I can think of a couple users on this site who've become known based on their behavior within the forums alone.
